Communication according to the Collins Dictionary :
Communication is the act of sharing or exchanging information with someone, for example by speaking, writing, or sending radio signals
Communication is ideally aimed at passing across an information to another person. Unfortunately, a lot of people these days speak but fail to communicate, they write such that their writings are almost completely devoid of communication. This has been the principal crippling agent of all types of relationships.
In some cases, both sides hardly talk, in other cases, all parties involved talk but hardly attain that level of effective communication.
Here goes the story of a man (Ryan) and his wife (Sally) :
On a Saturday afternoon, Sally said, "Ryan, I need you to help me buy a carton of milk from the grocery store, if there's egg, buy six". Ryan got back from the grocery store with six cartons of milk. Sally was bewildered, then Ryan said, "you told me to me to buy a carton of milk, and if there's egg, buy six!"

If there's a need to simplify, please do.
If you're the listener in need of some clarity, don't assume you're sure or arrive at a premature conclusion on the information passed across, ask for some clarification.
Do well to remember not everyone you relate with is at the same communication skill level with you
