We had a foster sister growing up. She was a few years older than I was, it was definitely a great addition to our family. I always remember thinking that we were the ones being helped out by her being there, not the other way around.

My oldest children were put into foster care because of their mothers drug habit an I had know idea that they were in foster care in Houston, Texas I found out an got full custody of all four of my children...they are grown an have children an married now but the foster families they were with took real good care of them while I was going thru the court processing which took several months but they were in the system for a couple of years....before I found out....

Thank you for sharing it. I think everyone should see Fostering as a wonderful thing. Obviously many stories are not as positive as yours, and I know that "the system" fails some children. Every life that is touched by fostering a child can be a beautiful experience.
