RE: I think that the human race is heading towards a dark age.

Interesting, I don't agree exactly, but still fun to read. I think the end will be based off of the need for natural resources. The world is on the brink of overpopulation for sustainability of such things as energy, clean drinkable water, fossil fuels, clean air and forestry. There will be a fight for control over these things. Overpopulation is humanities greatest enemy right now.

Sort:

I'm not saying COMPLETE overpopulation will occur soon or even in my life time. I'm only saying that - in my opinion - it is the next problem humanity needs to start solving BEFORE it is at a crisis level and the governments start finding ways to reduce it.

Even if computer technology stopped RIGHT now that does not mean we would suddenly stop being creative in using what we know and have at hand. Honestly, I think they are already looking beyond the CPU and once it stalls they will just devote more attention into whatever is next. Just like Fossil fuels. By the time oil runs out we will have moved on from needing it.

Science never stops progressing and learning new and better ways to do things. You can't build or bring to life an idea though unless you have the resources to do so. We need to be better stewards of those so that we can continue to develop and have a fighting chance in the future.

You are actually proving my point. Those system became obsolete and humanity moved on to newer and better technologies. When one way fails humanity will find another.
