I have a confession. I'm a steemit 'one hit wonder'.
A couple weeks ago I posted my introduction post and a few minutes later I almost passed out. The post had over $1,000! I was so excited and enthusiastic about #steemit and thought maybe I could have a chance to actually make money on this awesome, new platform. (surviving on one income is tough, especially in Silicon Valley)
Sadly, my second post and then my third and on and on.... didn't make much of a splash. I was disappointed, but then I thought about it.
In life, (especially lately) I give up when things get harder and I often lose interest quickly. So I decided that this time, I'm not to give up that easily. I am challenging myself to a 6 month challenge. I'm going to post at least once a week and I'm going to spend some time each day commenting and up voting my fellow steemit contributors' content. So here I am and you are welcome to follow me to help keep me accountable ;) Wish me luck!

Keep it up. Just remember not everone even has one hit on steemit. For example my posts dont make more than a few pennies, but i'm not here for the money, but the experience. I see that money is not free we have to earn it! :0)

Yep. In Steemit, and in general, we get what we give. It was easier to make a big splash early on. (my daughter made $1200 on a pic with her holding a hedgehog!) But now you have to contribute content and not get discouraged and quit because of low returns. Great idea to commit to 6 months. Happy Steeming :)

I am also a bit of three hit wonder (Only three of my posts have got me most of what I have now). I am tempted to also do a challenge, but not sure if I am ready for the commitment.
I thought about challenging myself to post every other day, but I decided to be easier on myself with at least a post a week. :) but you should take the challenge with me! It would be fun to see other peoples' experiences.

One hit wonder? Imagine never having a hit? Imagine putting out over 500 posts that at-least 100 adds quality to the platform and still no hit? You wrote an article talking about how your one hit isn't enough money, and boom 500 now:) Yal women kill me and i'm not knocking you but damn post half the content I post then see how you feel. You probably be done here but guess what? I learned in life it's not all about money even when you need it the most sometimes you have to struggle. The struggle is real! Please don't write anymore about how you're not making any money, and yes i'm begging you please! Cheers Happy Steeming!

Keep at it. I am sure you will learn a ton about youself and grow in amazing ways. I know I have since starting my blog over a year ago and at one point posting for 100 straight days! It is a challenge for sure but worth it!
Good advice. I turned negative due to initial failure but am going to give Steem more time. After all it's still in beta.
What is the challenge? Make 1 million STEEM Dollar in 6 months? I can not find the challenge in your "Whales please remember me" call.

Challenges are great for personal motivation. I wish you all the success in the world with this. I just did kind of the same thing with my second novel, which still has about 80,000 words to go till it's finished (it's sitting at 120,000 words right now)....I put a public book release date for it on all social media I have attached to my first book. Now, I have a challenge of my own to meet that release date by finishing the book, editing it, rewriting it two or three times, putting a professional cover on it, and getting it up online and available for sale by that date. When you issue a challenge to yourself and make it public, you are much more likely to work hard to complete and achieve it. I think you'll do just fine here.
I love challenges that require you to put in consistent work for a set period of time. Literally life-changing idea. Good luck!

Good luck! So far I've only made my introduction post and while it hasn't reached anything near what the top trending posts get, I'm still amazed by the amount I earned. Even though you made this challenge for yourself, I think I'm going to try it myself and see where it takes me.
