You can't empathize with me, but can you sympathize? Do you think violence against white men is wrong in the same way that violence against say black women is wrong or would you rather defend it?
If you're really claiming that white men "are the enemy", then I don't know why I would want to follow or get to know you. That's the same way that our potty-mouthed friend is arguing and as racist and sexist as it gets.
No ammount of historical or current victimhood can excuse being a bigot.
I only mean "the enemy" in the sense that, that's the demographic that is most prominently enacting and upholding these beliefs and actions that oppress and harm me. Therefore, my rhetoric and pleads for change will be directed at the majority offender. Yes, I can sympathize, and death is death.
I don't defend violence, period, for whatever reason, other than self-defense and consensual sport.
That's a big difference. I would appreciate it if you try to avoid condemning an entire ethinic or gender group like that. From your perspective it may seem trivial, as you consider yourself the victim of the situation, but it really is not.
There's plenty white straight cis men that are strong allies to LGBT people and ethnic/racial groups that aren't their own. This doesn't make the historical facts and current social pressures null and void just because there's a bunch of good apples growing in a rotted orchard.
And by "rotted orchard", you are refering to all social structures as such and not the ethnic or gender group I presume?
Well, yes, that wasn't what I was getting at, but could certainly be seen that way. In a nutshell, yes. I was referring to the growth of strong white allies vs the massive amount of misguided and harmful white population.
