I couldn’t be happier with the group of friends I have!
In my group we are all 23-24, we have three future-engineers, one physicist, one oral hygienist, one future vet (me), one designer, one geologist, one nurse and one doctor! With this diversified group, you can always expect the most diversified talks! Our topics go from technology to health, to economy, to politics, to art, to physics, damn we talk about everything! That’s why I feel so good in that group, I love mind engaging talks!
Last time we gatherer was 2 weeks ago, let me tell you some of the topics we discussed:
We first started talking about the economy, I was explaining to them some investing topics like dividends, taxes, especially about the dividend kings (Dividend kings are companies that have raised their dividend for at least 50 consecutive years).
I talked with the oral hygienist about dental floss, she was explaining to us how to use dental floss the correct way (I didn’t even know there was a wrong way xD), we also talked about how she was dealing with problematic people in her clinic, mostly people with autism, she has a hernia in her lumbar vertebras and trying to hold people with autism to clean their teeth sometimes gets challenging. Since we talked about hernias she asked me for a gym exercise she could do to strengthen her lumbar region, I’m the gym fanatic after all…
We talked about politics, especially the Canadian politics ( I’m not even Canadian :D) I’ve heard they were legalizing marijuana and wanted to talk a little about it since most of them smoke weed, we also talked about Portuguese politics (which I hate and will do a future post about this, I’ve got so much anger inside me about this topic that I can’t even begin to tell you guys about)!
I talked with one of the future engineers in our group, he had just won the hackathon in his college, nicely done! We talked about UBI (Universal Basic Income), for those that don’t know UBI is an economic system where even if you don’t work the government provides you a small amount of money for you to survive, we talked about the studies each of us read about the topic! This future engineer I’m talking about is actually thinking of coming to Steemit, I was finally able to persuade one of them to join the platform! Hurray for me!
The geologist of our group is dating the oral hygienist, he is working in Norway while she is working in Portugal ( and people tell me long distance relations don’t work…), we talked about the oil industry, even though he doesn’t like it’s one of the only ways for a geologist to actually get serious money, we also talked about space exploring, I mentioned he could try to specialize in space geology, he told me he already thought about it.
These are just some of the topics we talked about, we were together for 6 hours that night!
You see the number of engaging conversations we had about all sorts of scientific topics! This is why I love my group of friends, we are all “nerds” and we don’t judge each other, we all listen to one another and try to learn new things, sometimes the arguing heats up, but in the end we are all friends, being surrounded by this type of people makes me glad, it shows that humanity has a bright future!
This is the generation that will lead humanity tomorrow, remember folks, not all of us are rotten apples!

Question of the day: What about you? What sorts of conversations do you have with your group of friends?
Also, do you like the coffee separator I'm using for these chill posts? It's homemade!

Don't forget to comment, upvote, resteem, follow, send smoke signals if you liked the content!
All images are from unsplashed and the coffee separator was done by me using free source images and gimp!
Your post looks always awesome ... Like design? is future ... How can you make that coffee line splitting the sentences??
It's an image I made using gimp, a sort of free photoshop program, had to self-learn some of the stuff, i had never done any "design" stuff before, i'm learning veterinary so i don't need it, took me 1 afternoon, but now that i learned it i can do it fast if i want to change the logo, like i just did!
can you share the code in which you get text next to images I have tried a few approaches and it has not gone well :P
Use
div class=pull-right
image link
/div
of course all of this is between <>
thank you :D
It's so great to find a solid group of people to exchange ideas with! I help children on the recess field in my class all the time find better friends~ I think this may be more important than my math lessons right? Avoid the dramas and hang out with people that make you feel good about who you are! Lovely post, cheers!
100% agree, friends make college, high-school or any bad thing that happen in life much easier, they provide a safety net of support. When i first joined college i had some trouble with my studies, i was hold back for 1 year, when i decided to go back i didn't know anyone so i had no motivation to actually go to the classes, it was a vicious cycle of me not going to classes and staying another year, now that i have friends that i made in one of those years i find it much easier to study, go to classes, everything
Thanks for reading!

When I was your age I had a solid clan of people it was one of the best times in my life.
Hopefully, i'll keep this group until I'm old, most of us are living in different cities already, we all hang out on discord so it's easier to hang out, after all, internet makes it easier to connect people
Some very extreme stuff to tear mine apart and yes i have friends of over 30 years I connect to digitally it helps a lot.
I'm kind of similar since I appreciate a tight group of friends. Always have had a small circle and I don't mind at all. haha
I have my small group of close friends, and than i have like 4 or 5 others groups of friends which i sometimes hang out with, but my main group which i spend holidays with is the close one ofc
If you guys would all learn to fight you would make a really good post-apocalyptic survival group.
We need to start learning it! I think only one of us knows how to fight... the engineer learned karate when he was young, I've already seen him dodge some punches like he was playing around
I've thought about going to Thailand in the summer and going to one of those muay thai training camps, it would be cool to steem about it and actually put my muscles to good use
That would certainly be a game-breaking experience.
Better to learn fighting in your area tho, there you can focus on fighting and not being stuck in translating what your trainer just said.
Futhermore you would also be among your people.
Having friends you can have meaningful conversations with is great! I personally really don't like small talk but start a conversation about something scientific and I'm all in! After all science does not work in a monologue. It always has to be a dialog, you have to discuss your ideas with others in order to properly form and develop them.
100% agree, i also hate all that small talk, i would rather spend 5 hours talking about science than small talking
Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are. This means friends can make or mar us. Choose few good and valuable friends rather than too many untrustworthy friends.
Great great great.
I've had my group of friends for more then 7 years, some of them even more, we sometimes don't speak for a few week but it's normal, we have all grown but we still stay in touch through discord and facebook, i don't know how my life would be without them, i would probably have never gone out, i would probably have never been able to surpass my depression and i would probably have never gotten so much into science, friends are good for support and for competion, they make me want to be better, for me and for them.
That's the good part of having friends.
My group of friends discuss a lotta stuff. from intellectual to flat-out stupid and i love them. yeah, but since i've been an engineering student since junior high (i attended technical schools throughout), most of my friends are either engineers or technicians. It's wise to choose friends that think just like you do, or love the things you love
Yeah, i understand what you are talking about, between this conversation we always do the "that's what your mother said last night "jokes so i totally understand the "flat-out stupid" discussions you are talking about it xD
