There's no need to self vote excessively. With small votes on your posts people unusually don't care, as long as you're also spreading it around. Could vote for two posts and you've paid yourself what you'd earn just voting for yourself. But because you're mingling with people rather than basking in your own reflection, you stand a far greater chance of being discovered and eventually earning more support.
