A true little known fact (a friend of mine is a big Ian Flemming fan), Ian was looking for a bland, ordinary, everyday name for his super spy (I guess in keeping with his low profile actions). He spotted an ornithology book by, you guessed it, James Bond, and thought, "That is the dullest name I've ever heard".
