How many videos you have watched in the past had an essential and enduring impact on your real life? For me there was 1.
There is one video which changed my way of life forever. That sounds quite dramatic and elevated, but it´s the truth. The video I am talking about is a speech held by Tim Minchin. When I listened to him for the first time (which was more or less three years ago) it was the very first time I ever heard about him. During the past three years I watched the video like 178 times.
Every second of the following 12 minutes is worth watching.
Here is a foretaste:
- 'Be micro-ambitious. Don´t waste your time focussing to far in front of you. You will miss the shiny things in the corner of your eyes.'
- 'Happiness is like an orgasm. If you wait too long, it will pass away.'
- 'Be hard on your opinions. Take them out onto the veranda and hit them with a cricket club.'
- 'Define yourself by what you love. Be pro stuff and not anti stuff.'
- ...
Tim Minchin´s 9 life lessons - the very best speech ever held in history
I would be happy if you considered it worth watching, too.
Cheers,
Marly -

Thanks you hard working bot! But there are so many nice comments here which are worth much more than $10 ;-)
I've always appreciated Tim Minchin's wit and world view. Such good stuff, here! Exercise! And be pro stuff, not just anti stuff. Words to live by :)
Exactly. I am glad you liked it and thanks for the support ;-)
Awesome video @surfermarly - thank you so much for sharing it. Every life lesson he's ticked is something that I firmly believe. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up -- and I'm nearly 45 and more than half way to dead. LOL
Hahaha, if this statement was an article I would have resteemed it ;-) Thanks for your feedback and remember "it's all luck"...
absolutely bizarre to realize after watching this , the difference between this and a donald trump speech , or a uk tory mp speech , comparisons anyone / yep your right there arent any, this video is inspirational , and we get leaders akin to robotic wreck machines
'inspirational' is the word, yeah (just added it to the headline)!
thanks for your nice comment and reblog! it´s been much appreciated :)
It always amazes me how intelligent comedians are (most). I watched him in a video about speech codes and censorship yesterday, he makes a lot of sense. But, I always thought opinions were like orgasms, mine's the only one that matters and I could care less if you have one. (Not really, a joke I heard somewhere)
Hahaha, if the joke was a post I would reblog it :-) Thanks!
The mix 'intelligence + humor' is unbeatable. No doubt about that.
Thanks for sharing Marly, exactly the boost I needed :)
Good to hear that, it´s been my pleasure! :)
Keep spreading a little love now and then, you never know who might need it and read it ;)
wise words :-)
thanks for reblogging the love, hehe
Sure, gotta share the love :)
What do you mean "pro staff and not anti staff" ? you sure there is no typo there?
I was testing if somebody readed the article :-D Haha, kidding!
Thanks for the hint, it was a 'typical German typo'.
