Russ Gremel, a 98 year old vet, decided to donate $2 million worth of stock to the Illinois Audubon Society.
He bought the stocks nearly 7 decades ago for $1,000 and wanted to make a contribution to the society while he was alive.
His next move was to adopt an elderly Chihuahua, which struggled with cancer, but got cured eventually. He named it Tiger III, the heir of Tiger II, his beloved Chihuahua which was lost earlier this year.
A great example of generosity and the importance of investing at an early age :)
