There seems to be a lack of trust in traditional experts as they seem to have made a mess of things, so maybe people go for someone who says they will be different, even if they have no real ideas on how to run things. It's a thankless task being a politician as you can't please everyone and it can be hard to deliver on your promises. Let's hope Trump doesn't trash the world before he gets bored with this and goes back to his business
