This is where you nailed it – good carb and bad ones. Those who lived before us fed mainly on good carbs in lieu of what is obtainable today.
Like you said, carb, as a source of energy is essential in our diets, however, we can be fine without it because fatty acid is equally an alternative source of energy.
And yes, those who are obese ought to avoid carbs as much as they can. While glucose won't directly make you fat, it causes a spike on the insulin level which will lead to the relegation of fatty acid. Consequently, the body will create more cells to store the fatty acid. The cells keep growing bigger and bigger, and so will you.
Cabs are good for me because they help me get to a place faster and bad for me because they cause pollution and i end up less time walking or exercising. (Hint: spelling mistake in title)
Lame jokes apart, balanced diet is the best and that involves eating carbs. Carbs are what give us energy and you're right, focus on fibre rich carbs and not processed ones. Avoid white flour and eat brown flour. Or healthy grains such as quinoa. Its the junk that is problematic.
Right, the essential part of a healthy diet is a balance of all foods. I have heard the analogy of a diet is like a brick house. You don't have a healthy home without all the bricks being strong. Carbs are one brick in this house along with proteins and sugars.
