Have you ever seen a Rice Mill??
I know most of you never visited or never seen them. Even Neither I ever visited before. But I have seen them from far off and those use to be big plants and machinery set up in large areas.
It happen yesterday to visit a small Rice Mill Shop who use to cater local needs. These small shop are one of kind in my village and there is no one else as such in around 10km radius. So it use to be always busy and running all the time.( For sure during season)
Last week I have shared about Churning Paddy into Flattened Rice where the set up was totally traditional, and I did not find much difference here too.
A Machine, A Generator and jointing both A Leather Belt. These are small set up that keep the machine running and help churning out the Rice from raw Paddy's.
So, I took mine sack of Paddy's and waited there for a while, and when my turn came in. I emptied the entire Paddy in the open metal Funnel on top of the machine.
For once, I thought of making video recording but that was not sensible because the generator sounds is not allowing anything audible. The revolving leather belt is running very fast and making Machine to churn out Rice. The machine operator very carefully handling the output area , making sure the paddy are properly churning.
And finally the outcome is not so bad. After churning the paddy twice and making sure the Paddy's are grinded properly and the Husk get seperated, we get the White Rice coming out from the machine.
But beware, the place is not so clean, and it was most polluted area, we have too much noise due to running generator and also to much dusty because of husk all around.
Anyway, the most interesting things, these Rice going to taste more as these are from our own Fields. But we don't churn out the entire Paddy and prefer to sell the paddy produces to the local vendors keeping very small quantity for home.

Nice visit @steemflow.. in my hometown, we have the travelling Rice Mill 😊 which mean they will come right to the rice field or somebody's home when they got a call.
When I was a kid, one of my relative owned a big Rice Mill which we just called it as Pabrek. I came there to get the ashes from the rice husks for dish washing or take any waste of rice for duck's feeder or for the plant media.

Thats right @pegteem even i have collected those ruce husk and gonna use them on our garden...homestead. I heard it is very helpful for plants.
I never been to any rice mill and never seen them...but this small shop illustrate better how things happen at big mill.

Flourmill is something that always reminds me of my childhood. In my village still, there is only one rice mill with which I had an unbreakable relationship throughout my childhood. I used to go there to powder rice and wheat once in every week!
Yes..i have seen those flourmill ..but i never seen how rice get churned out from the paddy. This is quite a new stuff for me...how efficiently the paddys gets out and only rice left on those big machine

Hahaha...yes...may be no ....there are big rice mill owners who buy all the Paddy's and then sell them or export ...but kind of same process

Yes...big manufacturer ..even this experience is first of kind. I have been to floor mill but never rice churning mill.....more importantly these big machine do not crush them to powder....

I have not been to a rice mill, but I frequently goes to flourmill during my childhood. As I am from a village and all from the village take their wheat to the mill.

That brought back memories... as a kid, I used to follow my mum to the mill - more to grind to rice flour than to de-husk - we didn't grow any... :)
I don't see them here any more though - maybe in the smaller towns, not in the city where I am... a lil sad tho'
I can imagine....it's kind of different fun..when you churning own farm product..love to get the fresh rice.....and yes these are hard to find in City....this is just a glimpse of rural part

You can make idea from anything.....you know before making a posts I use to have many contents....but after post I left with nothing.....bread mill would be an interesting topic ....considering they not kneading the floor with legs....once I saw it doing in local bakery and since then I hardly eat any except from some big manufacturer
