I was one of the first people over 40 on Facebook- in 2007. I dedicated quite a bit of time to promoting its value to my community in 2008 with my best friend. I quit using Facebook (although I have not deleted my account) over a year ago. It told the same friend (who still uses it a lot) that is was a cesspool. She seemed shocked when she heard that. Our friendship has been changing for awhile, for several reasons. Since my comment, however, we've barely spoken.
