Ahhh that's a very unexpected turn of events! Oh my! I can empathize since I've had to cancel a HUGE travel around the world after 8 weeks due to an accident which has left me with limited mobility - and also I had canceled our apartment (since we would be gone for 9 months anyway), so we were back home with a lot of medical questions and NO house and all our stuff locked in storage. In your case I KNOW I would have made the same decision - I couldn't back then, but I know we were planning to travel until we were called back too ;-)
I hope you will make the most of it and I'll be reading along! GOOD LUCK!
(This things will play out fine in the end. I'm still not able to walk to my fullest potential but my life isn't that bad either ;-))
So sad to hear your story. Will you be able to go back on the road as soon as this health issue is fixed?
You must have been so bummed... But yes, i do believe things happen for a reason. Sometimes the reason being a little hard to find, but still.
Take care @soyrosa and thank you so much for sharing your experience.
Unfortunately the health issue will never be fixed! But I’m learning to deal with it and I look pretty cool with a cane ;-) Never thought about getting a drivers license (you really don’t need one in tiny Netherlands) bit getting one now - all stuff I’m doing so i will find new ways to travel! :-)
Anyway, good luck again on your adventure and I’m sure in 2 years you’ll understand why all these things were ‘good’ for both your lives!
