What is my true desire ?
RE:
Ever since my first conscious thought I remember never been one year without traveling. I grew up as the youngest of 6 children, so of course we were just able to travel through Europe and the countries near Germany. Spain, England, France, Denmark, Turkey, Tunisia, Austria, Portugal and so on… When I was 14 years old all of my siblings became 18 and over. They wouldn't travel with us anymore. I couldn't understand it at that time but now it is logical to me. So I was the only child traveling with my parents. They were so exited because we managed to fly 1 month to the USA. It was such a big dream of my dad and my mother as well. Since then I flew overseas every year…
Sometimes it is hard to stay at one place and living in a routine. Wake up early, fast breakfast because you have to rush to work, working all day long, coming home, do some free time stuff , having dinner and finally finish the day with a glass of wine for a better sleep. Nobody likes to do the same things for a long period of time. How could there be any space for creativity and thoughts about our future? Are we meant to work all day long and have no space for own thoughts and wishes? I am convinced that this is a wrong perspective. Humans are meant for more than just being "slaves of the government“. Of course everybody has different conditions when it comes to travel. Some earn more money, others have better connections and many people don´t have enough holidays to stay away from work. But that is totally okay. To travel doesn´t mean you have to flight 10 hours to another continent for a month. Even different locations for a few days in your state could be relaxing as well.
Try to use your holiday as a recharge of your energy !
Now matter how positive your feelings are when you wake up, hours of dealing with negativity from others can leave you completely drained by the end of the day. When you’re weighed down by external or internal negativity, your personal energy suffers.
The only way out for me personal is a long session of meditation or to leave the town and get refreshed at the ocean. I just love the sound of the waves and nature in general. I am able to breath fresh salty air, clear my mind and forget about the stress at home....
The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes. - Marcel Proust
Now I want to talk about my headline. Desire -
When I would ask you what your true desire is in life, could you give me an answer? Are you sure that it is really your answer and not the one of your friends, boss, the wish the society gave you?
I grew up in a tiny village mixed with young and very old people. The elder generation had always the same lifestyle, all of them. They lived in big house which is too big for an old married couple, they had nothing to do beside garden work and celebrated national holiday and their birthdays every year at the same table with the same food and the same people. I had the thought "are they really happy?“ my whole life. I couldn't imagine to end my life just by doing the same stuff every day to the end of my life. How terrible would this be ? So a few months ago I asked an old man my question. „What is your desire in life? Are you really happy how your life turned out and having the routine for the rest of your life?“ His answer was really honest. „You know young lady, I saw so many different things in the past years. I got to know so many people and traveled through so many countries. Now I have a gorgeous woman, a beautiful house, a garden that is so huge like a small forest, a swimming pool for my grandchildren and for the sake of my health. Yes I am really happy how my life turned out. I am totally happy, my wife and I are just enjoying life.“
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That was the moment where I realized that you wont be able to travel for the rest of your life. You need to travel as long as you can and right after you´re able to decide what your true desire is. I personally believe that you will never find your true aspiration if you stay at one place.
I live in Hamburg, Germany as many of you probably know, and the weather is so terrible that people lost their energy and emotions. We do have days full of sunshine but these are very rare. Most of the time we look up into a grey sky filled with clouds and rain. This is one reason why people are stressed out and unhappy. The sun surprises you with energy every time she appears and if she did not appear during the day, your energy will be lost.
German people are normally very friendly but since the last few years I made horrible experiences. Even going out for shopping is no fun anymore because the workers are so unfriendly! Thats why I believe traveling plays a major role in our lives. We are used to stay at one place. Because of the work, friends, family, school, kids, house and so on. But what if we had enough time to travel around the world and get to know more about other cultures ?
To travel is more than just to experience the difference between people and the nature at home. It was live changing for me to experience these adventures that I will never forget.
As I mentioned above, you do not need a high budget to be able to travel the world. Even the country your city next to your home could be great.

This post started with a question. What is my true desire ?
Being honest to you - I dont know yet! There are so many beautiful things in life which makes me feel a little overstrained by picking just one wish. I havent seen enough to decide what I want in life especially for the rest of my life. I need some time to calm down, travel trough the nature and to clear my mind for being fully present.
I hope you now have a different perspective about traveling that its more than just fun. It can be life changing !
Thanks for reading
Stay focused
Love, Soldier

Hamburger are known for beeing a little rough but with big hearts at least thats what we Mainzer think about them.
The true prupose is a tough one to answer. There are not soo many studies about happines and I think happiness and purpose go hand in hand.
But I think growth is a big purpose in all our lifes. I know that is very general and you have o figur out in which area you want to grow for yourself.
There was also a study people seeing others grow increased their happines a lot. It doesnt have to be your children necessarily, even if you take somone under your wings and start mentoring him/her will have the same effect.
But enough rambling for now...
Great post makes me reflect a lot on myself.
😭😭😌😌
my emoji is very flawed are thos sad smileys or smileys who are crying of laughing?
didnt know that Mainzer think that Hamburger have big hearts :P Good to know. But its true. They seem to be rough but if you get to know them, they are totally friendly
I think my true desire in life is to see hurting people healed and their needs taken care of. Seeing homeless people has always wrecked me inside emotionally and I want to reach out to these people and help them and build relationships.
we must find out the our desires , destination and our real value of life is something beyond the daily stuff. very nice!
Thanks so much!

i tested many thing ,
but , Why i don't know what is my desire?
Maybe you need to see more to find the true desire which is already inside you !
At the moment I am rather in loss of energy, something really tragic happened in my family and I have a lot of trouble to recover. That exhausts me. In any case I will follow your blog because you are someone fascinating.
Sad to hear this! I wish you and your family all the best! For moments like that I would recommend yoga and meditation to calm down a little.... <3
I so agree. Travelling open your eyes to others' reality. It also help you to realize thats the world has so much more to offer
So true !!!
My true desire is to learn how to stay positive and happy no matter how many winding roads I may take and life's uncertainty that I will going to travel. As they said, Life is too short not to become happy. Kindly permit me to post this music video from youtube--that inspires me to fulfill my desire in this life. Thanks for sharing this as I was inspired again by your never ending aspiration of expressing your beautiful mind to us.

This is a great desire ! Thanks for sharing
Nice gifs or artwork. Did you design these? They are unique. And of course, excellent blog too.
No I git them from Google search
I totally agree with you. I think that traveling will help one experience different perspective of life. I live in a small town in Ghana West Africa and life gets so boring and stressful most of the time. I see the same people everyday do the same things and I most of the time imagine how life outside my small town will feel like. I hope that I'll be able to explore the world some day and get to meet different calibre of people.
I really needed to see this!! I am currently backpacking across Country. On my journey I have encountered more loving people than I could ever imagine. I was shocked by how many people seemed to have more compassion and understanding of my journey then my own parents and relatives. Sometimes you just have to step out of your comfort zone and every day life cycles to really grow spiritually and mentally. I can truly say I have broken my shackles! I am blossoming into a better person day by day. I am blessed to have roamed across your page. You truly added more fuel to this journey of mines. #StayBlessedQueen
Wow thank you for sharing your experiences !
Sometimes you just have to step out of your comfort zone and every day life cycles to really grow spiritually and mentally
Totally agree with that!
Great post check out mine if you can !:)
Meditation and yoga are a must for me to feel recharged and ready to pull creativity into my mind. I have a light work schedule so I am free to focus on my "desire" - and yes my desire is truly my desire and not one programmed into me by the people around me.
My desire is to create the vision I have (Capital Pink) and if I were to attempt to put it into words you would think I was crazy.
Big goals. I don't care about anything else in this world. Except for my bunny, Thumper. I love him.
This is a great desire ! Mediation and Yoga are a must for me too!
It is difficult to follow the same routine for a long time a break is needed to refresh ourself. Thanks for sharing.
So true !
When I was young I did travel. Yes Soldier do it now while you are young. Some how I always found the money to do it. Also you are right, sometimes just visiting the next town is an adventure.
I totally agree with you !
Excellent publication !!! Upvoted and check my posts and follow me please !! Greetings.
wow what a great post. ✋ Love your style of writing. ✌Gave me something to think about today. Sun is defiantly a plus in ones day. I moved from a very sunny hot place to a grey one. I feel like where ever the little bit of sun there is, I must stand/sit in it to re gain my energy/glow.
The job is so tedious and "same old same old" . One can easily burn out and just can't do what usually is so to do. Instead, follow your job criteria and looks like we nailed acct.
Very well-thought-out and written gem of a post. Traveling has a wonderful impact on people. In my university, no one spoke more passionately of anything other than their overseas exchange experiences. I found out why after living for 6 months in Shanghai for an internship and then 6 months in the US for my study exchange.
The level of exposure and ability to observe new things like food, customs, history, cultural ways of receiving and reaction to new information. Staying at a place for a longer gave me a lot of time to introspect, examine myself against new benchmarks on life, and try to be a better version of myself.
It helped to be away from family and normal circle of friends as well. Opens up new dimensions into the experience and helps you to know yourself better. I think I grew up the most (mentally) during that 1 year of living abroad than all my time spent in my home country.
Thanks for sharing @soldier, you've got a new follower! :)
Totally agree about living abroad. You realize how much of your previous problems back home were really nothing at all. I guess when you're in a place too long, you get complacent and you even start to fear changes! Being away from home really opens your eyes and mind.
Yes that's true. It's a danger of staying too deep in our comfort zones. We limit our own growth potential :(
Nice post and so true. My first overseas travel was to Okinawa Japan. I had never flown except briefly on a crop duster type plane. I left a small airport where we actually had to wait for the pilot to arrive and unlock. I had as my traveling companion an active 2 yr. old. That was the beginning of many travels and getting to know different cultures. Such a good experience and learning that people are just people the world over and , for the most part, share the desire to make a good life for their families just as we want. I am involved in a project now that I love and gives me purpose even at 80+ years old. I think purpose is a must for anyone to be truly happy. I remember reading how Madam Currie often would not take time to eat more than a piece of bread and tea because it would take too much time away from her projects. My project is surely not at that level of importance to the world but to me it is of supreme importance and keeps me going. Thanks for your interesting post.
Excellent publication !!! Upvoted and check my posts and follow me please !! Greetings.
Sometimes you just need to pack your bags and travel , see different sides of the world . I find it important for ones health as well
@soldier amazing read from you as usual ! The last 15 years I have been working in the hotel industry night and day till I reached the top position in the kitchen. I always believed it was my desire to be Executive Chef! Well when I got the position, I discovered this was not what I desire! I quit right away!
Now I am concentrating my energy in bringing more to the society, my real desire is to see and make people happy be it a simple gesture you do.
It's never too late.
Respect
@progressivechef
My dream is to travel twice a year. Now, I'm doing it once a year. I can tell you, every time I travel I discovered something new.
Nice article as usual. Your good at your work.i really enjoy this content
I agree, although I've not traveled as extensively as you, it's eye opening and incomparable. Every dime well spent in my travels for the rich reward. Resteeming.
Cal Newport would get trigered with your post. He wrote a book "deep work" about how pursuing your desire and passions is actually something bad.
traveling is being alive developing yours self and discovering new things in this big planet ;) <3
Good post
fully true
thank you so much for making me enjoy this @soldier
Thanks for sharing! I definitely agree with using travel as a way to recharge your life. As for desire, I dont know what mine is either. Such a simple question but a complicated answer! I suppose the answer changes throughout our lives.
It's so true. Travelling allows us to open up our minds to new possibilities in our life. I recently moved across Canada away from a big city which drained me to no end. It was only by taking a road trip 2000 km away from that made me realize where I wanted to live:) Great post!
That's one cool animation, after the Marcel Proust quote.
Thanks for the great post! I think you might like my work as well so feel free to take a look sometime :)
Magnificent post,
I agree, traveling can refresh the mind in a very psychedelic way, the quote about a new pair of eyes is very fitting. Upvote !
Congratulations @soldier
