Our consciousness is a very intriguing subject, for sure: where does it begin, where does it end, and when? There are so many questions that we can never truly understand. I do believe, like you, that love and goodwill are cornerstones of our morality. I'm glad you found love and support in your time of need, it's all anyone can really ask. Moving away from small communities into a world with no boundaries has opened up a whole new array of issues for the 'normal person'. Especially with mobiles/internet and non-stop connectivity.
I've tried meditation before, it certainly has some benefits, it's a habit I wish I could get back into, unfortunately the sloth's mind buzzes far too much and it's hard to quiet it even in those meditation states.
First, I don't believe we need to be perfect. It is enough to do our best. Second, bractice makes berfect. The word religion means to consistently practice, and there is no need to schedule such practice rigidly. Simply take ten minutes today. Tomorrow you will have the same good intentions, purpose, and hurly burly to overcome. But remain true to your principles and carve out ten minutes then, as you are able.
Thanks!
