First Blockchain Smartphone For The Crypto Community - Store & Spend Your Coins Safely With Your Phone!

in #life7 years ago

Do you own a smartphone? What can it do? Take pictures, make calls, send instant messages, download apps, browse the internet, set an alarm... probably the usual stuff. Nowadays, almost all smartphone features are the same or very similar - and the two biggest companies (Apple and Samsung) dominate the market.

But what if your smartphone was built for your crypto-lifestyle?

2017 has been the year for cryptocurrencies - not only did we witness incredible rises in value and a big hype around ICO's, 2017 has also helped cryptocurrencies to become much more mainstream.
Global companies are slowly realizing the benefits of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

Now, one company has developed a smartphone specifically for our niche market - the crypto community!

Introducing Finney - the world's first Blockchain Smartphone which is secure enough to help you store and spend cryptocurrencies.

Finney - Blockchain Smartphone

Named after Hal Finney, recipient of the world’s first bitcoin transaction, the Finney smartphone is built for the Blockchain generation.
It's an open-source phone built on an independent, free blockchain network - which makes it extremely secure.
According to the company itself, it will be world's only smartphone that is fully secure and safe enough to hold cryptocurrency tokens.
The Finney is powered by the Tangle technology of IOTA and comes with a 5.2 inch screen, 8GB RAM, 16 megapixel camera, 12 megapixel wide-angle front camera, 256GB internal memory storage, and countless security features.

Company Vision:

"SIRIN LABS vision is to become the world’s leader in secure open source consumer electronics for the blockchain era; to allow everyone secure access to the digital world, and build an eco-system where people can directly share resources and conduct fee-less transactions with others."

"This particular line of devices is aimed at the existing cryptocurrency community, [which] is heavily vested in and passionate about the propagation of the space and blockchain-based products and services it can bring about.”

Features

Blockchain features of the Finney smartphone:

  • Secure P2P resource sharing
  • Built-in "cold storage" crypto wallet
  • Distributed Ledger Consensus
  • Behavioral based Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)
  • Blockchain based, full tampering proof
  • Physical security switch (for wallet protection)
  • Secured communications (VoIP, text, email)
  • Three-Factor authentication: Biometric, Lock Pattern, Behavioral

Cyber Protection

The Finney smartphone aims to be the only phone in the world that's really secure enough to store crypto coins.
The Finney devices are multilayer cyber protected, including hardware and and low-level OS to the application layer.
Sirin Labs' cyber security protection is one of their priorities, due to the very dynamic and growing threat of cyber attacks.
The protection system is proactive, being developed on a behavioral-based and machine learning Intrusion Prevention System (IPS).

BlockShield

BlockShield™ is Sirin Labs' technology that makes the "cold storage" crypto wallet within the smartphone so secure.
It consists of multiple security eatures like Trusted Display, IP Address Hiding, MAC Address Randomization, and a physical security switch to ensure transaction integrity.

Distributed Ledger Consensus - without fees

Sirin Labs wanted to create an open-source blockchain without fees - and that's what Finney offers its users.
By cooperating with the IOTA foundation, Finney makes use of its Tangle consensus mechanism to form a distributed, scalable, light-weight and ASIC-resistant ledger.
In other words, it's an independent blockchain network without fees.

Secure P2P Resource sharing

The Finney ecosystem of all-in-one-pc and smartphone allows for trusted and secure P2P resource sharing between Finney devices and -users. You can also send fast micro-payments for shared resources to another user - without fees.

Future Outlook

So what's next for Finney and Sirin Labs?
Of course, this phone is built for a niche market - cryptocurrency users still only represent a tiny fraction of the population. But the company Sirin Labs is sure that the crypto community will grow in the future, and potentially become a very interesting market.

“This is an early adopter community — for now — but we believe there is a large market opportunity right behind them.”

The company also plans to release an $800 all-in-one PC.
Within the family of devices, users will be able to share data, battery power and processing power wirelessly!

“The Finney family of devices will be the first of their kind to be specifically designed for the needs of the blockchain generation, combining an ultra-secure blockchain-enabled environment, with the functionality and essentials of Android OS."

The Sirin ICO will start later this year - introducing the SRN token.

Sirin Labs' products will only be for available for purchase with SRN tokens, the native tokens of the network.
Depending on the outcome of the crowdsale, the company will be able to either develop the Finney smartphone (min. $50 million), smartphone and PC ($75 million), or both, plus the ShieldOS protection ($100 million).
There is no official date for the ICO yet, but it should be announced shortly!

wow that looks slick!

wow it looks very nice.. thanks for this post. done following you resteem and upvote. :)

Great article !

When enough people jump to crypto, Apple or Samsung will build this easy without ICO.

While this is great news, I'm afraid i have to take the wait and see approach to this product.

The promise seems too good to be true, perhaps i may only be convinced with a working prototype. Otherwise im treating this phone and company like how i'd treat any other. Let other's get the first version and scour the forum for errors and issues arising from the product.

Personally i hold a Oneplus X. This is me speaking as a guy who watched the livestream launch of Oneplus 1, As good as a phone company is, there's just too much at stake for me to be the first to get my hands on their 1.0 product.

I'm jumping in on the ICO though.. Not crazy to miss that opportunity.

Looka interesting. Wonder how the phone will fare in other aspects! Gotta check this one out!

thanks for sharing; quite interesting

So it's a hardware wallet AND smartphone at the same time? Cool!

I don't think it will be popular among crypto users. Probably next version of iPhone will have all stuff for crypto, I bet.

Not a bad looking device and with added security measures, it should be an interesting option.

....woah...I have the wrong first name
