Good morning (thinking about the actual situation in my country)

in #life7 years ago

At first, good morning to you all (I like to start to post here wishing you something good ^_^).  As I wrote, in the last weekend we visited Paris and we came back at home in the Sunday night. We spent 3 wonderful days in Paris, but when we came back at home we had a bad surprise reading about some news about our country (Italy).

You have to know that in the March 4 there was the election day for the new government in Italy, but no party won an outright majority, so our President Mattarella (following the laws about similar situations) started the procedure to form a new cabinet. Even if no party won the election, there were 2 parties that had a largest number of votes and won a plurality of seats in the chambers (the chamber of Deputies and the chamber of the Senate): the League by Matteo Salvini (a right party) and the Five Stars Movement by  Luigi Di Maio (a populist movement that seems like a sect and also a bit righty, if you read their programs and their history). Italy became to be too righty for me, but, sure, to live in a democracy means also to accept every decision of the majority, so I was ready to accept (even if I didn't like it) an alliance between those 2 parties to have a new government, because we NEED to have a new government.

I don't want to talk about that 2 parties, because reading what they say and what they want to do is something crazy for me, sorry.

Before to visit Paris, the League and the 5 Stars Movement had made an agreement (a difficult agreement), so we thought everything was ok for a new goverment, but when we came back at home we read that there was another problem: the allieance wanted a minister against the European Union (just to know, the 5 Stars Movement said they was not against Eu) , but our President Mattarella said no! Again, just to know, according to our laws, the President can say no to a minister. So, like sometimes  happens between the little kids, the alliance  started to say something like this: "If we can't do what we want to do, we say you are really really bad!" and started to talk about an impeachment, even if (I repeat) the President did simply what he could do  according to the law. That alliance seems to have a strange idea about a "democracy", they seems don't know that a democracy have some laws to respect, because  a form of government where every one can do it just what he/she want is an anarchy and yes, it's not the same!

As you can understand, at now we don't have a new government, but just a country where people seems to be against other people, a divided country and nobody is happy. Looking on facebook I can see many people who think to have the truth in his pocket, but many of them seems to be blind and they are sharing a lot of fake news against this or that. People seems to be blind and angry and unable to think using their own mind. It's just a chaos and it's not good for my country.

Now we are working to form a technical cabinet and it's pretty sure we'll have new election at the end of the year to hhave (maybe) a new political government. In the meantime, one of our "sadly famous" ex premiers, Silvio Berlusconi (do you remember the "bunga bunga affaire"???? It was a shame for every italian!)  seems to be ready to be a new candidate for the next election.

You can understand I'm a little worried.

I hope in a better time

Silvia

If you have learned to rule yourself (your emotions, your thinking, your physical being), why would you worry about all this?

If you haven't learned to take responsibility for ruling yourself, then it is probably still best to not worry because you can't do anything about it anyway :-)

You're right, but maybe I have to learn better to rule myself :P Sometimes my hubby say to me I'm too "fumina" (it's an italian way to speech to say I'm a woman who don't have self control in some situations), but I'm trying to be more quiet :D

You and your hubby can help each other :-)

We are living in troubling times, for sure. I knew after Brexit that Italy was poised to be the next to propose such a thing, althogh Brexit hasn't actually happened so who knows, maybe it is all talk.

As an American I am sad in general about the affairs overseas in general because for me it is impossible to stay very easily or very long in the EU and even going in and out of the UK can be troublesome. I don't really have an opinion on the affairs there as it is not my country, but I am worried. Sometimes if you look at historical perspectives you can see similarities and I don't like to think about that. They say History repeats itself, so one has to only use the Past as a Playbook to read the Future.
I love UK and Europe and hope for happy and good outcomes. My best to you and your country, but as you know, the USA is also going through some interesting times. What is most upsetting is how these political changes seem to be set to mostly pit the common people of the countries against one another rather than looking at those at the top alone. We seem to want to 'pick sides' and then call names and throw stones and this division of the masses is always a scary place to be.
May goodness will out!

Some italians think to propose a sort of Brexit for our country, but just because they don't think about the differences between the Uk and Italy. Our currency (it was the italian lira) was not strong like the Sterling and we are really less strong than a country like the Uk, so I think a sort of Brexit can't be a good solution for us. I worked for many years as fund raiser and european project planner, so I know how important is to stay in the Ue for my country, but people seems to think that our troubles are just because we are a part of the Ue and they don't think that if we are in trouble is because our own behaviour. Now on Facebook italian people look really crazy , but you're right, if we look at historical perspective we can see similarities and it's not so good. I really hope in the better time, for everyone and for every country.

You are right. If you vote in democracy you need to obey the one or ones that gets the most votes. If you say no, I won't obey or pay them......then that's not democratic at all. You have to wait for the next election and maybe vote harder then, to make others pay and obey, the one you find great and believe of, that he, or she, has the truth in his pocket

Sadly populist movements are spreading like cancer :(
In my country situation is totally getting out off control, and what is the most sad part, those movements have their audience, and it's getting bigger in most of the countries @silviabeneforti.

Reading something about different country, I think the same of you: the populist movements are getting bigger in many country. Sad time for a lot of us :(

I didn't know nothing about this, that's not something I read in the news in my country Venezuela

Just to know, the Five Stars Movement, during their election campaign, said they want to be in a country like the Venezuela, but I'm pretty sure they don't know the actual situation in Venezuela ;)

Crazy people, they don't know the reality of what is happening here😔

I totally agree with you, they don't know it :(

So I guess you are for the the mass migration of Africans to Italy?

Maybe you didn't understand what I wrote in my post, because your reply it's not about it. I'm pretty sure you wrote this comment just as a provocation and I don't appreciate it, so: bye bye.

Yes in fact I was triggered.

I believe in a conspiracy that many high level politicians engage pedophilia.

So every-time I hear about the EU government I become angry.

For example this was the UK Prime Minister who brought them into the EU. Name Edward Heath suspected pedophile, friend of BBC children star Jimmy Savile a known child molester.

Deutsche Welle & Wikipedia is if fake news?

I'm sorry it was the wrong place to express my view. It was just on impulse because I felt so much anger.
