The eminent scientist has developed polythene bags from jute, the former Director General of the Atomic Energy Commission and the Scientific Adviser of Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation Dr. Mobarak Ahmad Khan.
The bag has been named 'golden bag'. Seat is made by processing and procuring cellulose from jute. The bag is made from it. The inventor claims that polythene bags made from jute are more effective than polythene bags made. After using the polythene bag, it is easily mixed with soil. On top of it, the fertilizer works on the soil. Available Polyethylene bags made available using the common technology and general technology have huge potential for export abroad.
Meanwhile, a number of countries, including Australia, Japan, the UAE, have expressed interest in importing gold bags. He said that the initial production target has been fixed at 3 tonnes a day. Although this bag is officially produced, commercially it has huge potential for production. It may be produced in jute mills. Moreover, anyone can establish a factory in a small scale. The marketing of gold bags is still limited due to its short sale. The price of each bag is 3 to 4 taka. Officials of the Jute Research Institute feel that if more quantity is produced, it can be reduced to 50 paisa. Needless to say, the golden bag can be an alternative to conventional polythene bags. Due to the use of conventional 'Akshay' Polythene bags, environmental pollution, reduction in soil fertility, flooding of rivers, city water logging etc. can be possible if it is possible to ensure production, marketing and use of golden bags as needed. As a result, jute economics can become inevitable.
