These no need to bake Korean cookies are rolled up like a jelly roll, then cut across into slices. This is easiest to do if you use a hot sharp knife.
1/3 cup white sesame seeds
1/3 cup black sesame seeds
about 1/3 cup light brown sugar
8 Tb. light corn syrup
Heat the white and black sesame seeds in separate dry heavy skillets until they just begin to pop.
Gently heat the sugar in the corn syrup, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Mix half with the white sesame seeds and half with the black sesame seeds.
Spread each mixture out on a sheet of waxed paper. Put another sheet of waxed paper on each and roll out. Remove the top sheets of waxed paper and invert the black sesame seed mixture onto the white sesame seed mixture. Remove the waxed paper now on top.
Roll up the sesame seed mixtures firmly, enclosing the black in the white and using the underneath sheet of paper to help you. Leave until cold, then cut into slices.
