I think that there are many benefits for homeschooling especially now more than ever in our current school system. There is overcrowding, bullying, and so many kids with different needs that are not getting met.
Most people do not realize that you can homeschool your own curriculum as well as incorporate a K-12 program in the comfort of our home. The kids can do the work at their own pace and likely advance ahead of their peers if they are dedicated in the same amount of time.
Essentially, our kids can have the benefit of academics at home in a quiet environment away from all the extra noise while still maintaining friendships and participating in school athletics.
My wife and I (read: my wife ( @nieke-s)) gave our two youngest children home schooling for half a year. It was incredible how much they learned in that time, and how much more relaxed they were. They only needed a quarter to half the time per day, compared to what they needed in school. It was an absolute win! Unfortunately, due to circumstances, we had to stop it, for now...
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me. Every time I bring up homeschooling, people say the kids need to socialize in school. If you know the type of socialization that they are getting in middle school, I would say PASSING would be the best option. At this age, the kids need to focus on academics and other activities rather than getting bogged down in the muck of peer pressure.
Well... Both are correct in my opinion. You are completely right! Totally, I can't but agree 100%! But kids need to socialize too. However, the way schools are working these days (or always), I totally agree that that is absolutely NOT the best place for them to socialize. On the contrary... As you say, getting them bogged down by peer pressure...
I like your thik
