The retirement vs. I'm not working dynamic is funny here. All my friends (mostly New Yorkers) think I don't want to work when I say I'm trying to retire soon.

Retire means I don't work for anyone else in my opinion. When I can do what I want for a living, when my work is what I would do with my day if I was free to do whatever I'd like. Getting close!
