I have just returned from Palu in Sulawesi where I saw many wonderful sights, one of which was a little wooden shack out at sea.
Around a mile from the mainland, one man lives alone in this shack alongside a small sand dune where he can walk around and admire his view. Or perhaps do a bit of snorkelling if he fancies it!
I didn't see any solar panels so I imagine he has only candles to light his 'home' at night.
His home is actually anchored to the seabed and floats when the tide is high. I can only imagine what it must be like when there is a storm!
What a great way to live.
...if you are into solitude, meditation & seafood :)
What a way to live! Imagine living in a place like this for a short while to find inspiration to produce something, a book, an album..
I could manage as long as I have a PC and a stable internet connection.
Without that I would go crazier than Tom Hanks in Castaway. xD
I guess I can too.. Maybe. I think I need human interaction but at least a laptop and an Internet can be a substitute for that.
And true.. If there is no Internet I'd go full on "WILSON!!!"
For sure that would be a great way to use the time! I wasn't able to communicate with him so have no idea what he actually spends his time doing.
He seemed very happy though ;)
wow really love this post.. I followed you!...upvoted!
Thanks very much. I am lucky to live the life I do :)
Enjoy the ride...
Yeah. A lot of people do not know how lucky they are just to have good shelter to live and good comfort bed to rest. Living with contentment is what we need to lived happilly. Thanks for this post it really is providing lesson to the community. Good job @samstonehill
Appreciate the comment my friend :)
nice post if we all lived out there we would not have problems
if you care for your kids please please see my post (the video is a must see )

Thanks for the link but I prefer to focus my attention on all the wonderful things that may happen to my children as they grow up. We live in a vibrational universe where like attracts like. So we must be conscious of our thoughts at all times. Awareness is one thing. Spending time focused on it is another.
I appreciate you are trying to help.
I will say that it looks like a well constructed article. But my advice would be to go for a more uplifting subject next time :)
thanks for the reply I understand where you are coming from ,however we need to understand the what we are facing
I have always maintained people are born with goodness .
lets live a good wholesome live ,but always have a reminder of what can happen
MAY THE ALMIGHTY NEVER LET ANYONE FACE THIS KIND OF PROBLEM.
Amen to that!
Nothing but cupcakes & rainbows for the world today :)
Looks very nice, the water looks fantastically clear
It was! Sooooooo beautiful :)
Very cool :-)
I know! I wanted to stay there for a few days just to see what it was like. But alas, I was on a job....
Wow, what a place to live.
Sulawesi - live to travel there again.
It's a huge island Sulawesi. So many beautiful places, mostly undiscovered by the tourism industry still. I will be going back with my family for sure :)
Good to know. I traveled in the 90ies in the south and toraja area and love to go back.
So cool!
Tell me about it! I wanted to stay a few days ;)
Wow. I am a little jealous but I would love to see a picture of this shed on high tide.
Good point. I wonder what it looks like when it is floating? Well, maybe I will return one day....
So cool! Would like to have a chat with this man :)
I wised I could have spoken his language. So many questions..
No income tax, no property tax. What a way!
But I guess not internet connection too means no steemit.
Haha! Yes, for sure no steemit for him. Though if I ever return I will bring him a solar panel and a phone :)
I guess you'll have to get the telco to build a cell for him
I already have the perfect product in mind for him. This kit costs only $20. The battery runs the torch/lamp and anything that charges off USB.
Pretty neat eh. Am currently making films for this company and should be able to get my hands on some free kits ;)
Looks like simple enough deal. Is this in the market already?
I believe so. Would you like one?
If it's in the market, I'll like to see if it's something I want to get.
I like the idea of isolated locations, but this might be a bit much even for me. I agree with you a storm would probably be the least fun one could have while living in that location.
Thanks for the comment. A solar panel would go a long way in making life a bit easier. And a light & phone to go with it :) There was a 3G signal there, so he could even have a computer if he wanted! Though clearly, money was not something he had much of.
A wonderful thing to see. Hope to return to him one day with that solar panel :)
I like people living close to nature far from culture and lifestyles. To be honest, I do not know if I could respond by living under such conditions. For a little bit like that. They are really worthy!
Very nice post! Now you have a new follower @samstonehill
Great! Welcome to the party :) Thanks for the follow my friend.
That's not a great way to live it's for great for holidays you can't be alone rest of your life but it's hilarious and weird at the same time.
