Introduce yourself

Who am I?
I'm what you would never assume.
And I'm not, there is nothing that can be said at first glance.

I was born in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, ex Yugoslavia's republic. Nice town with salty lakes in the city center. I never liked school. I finished elementary school and went to high school. I did not like it because I just wanted to play guitar. The first time I took the guitar into my hands was when I was 9 years old. From that day on, I knew that was the only thing I wanted to do. I did not want to go to school, so the teachers asked me to come and play something, and they would let me in the next semester. Somehow I finished high school, but I practiced playing guitar every day for 9-10 hours a day. I had my bands but nothing serious until I became 18. I was a very famous person thanks to the guitar. They invited me to come to the audition in a local band called Ludilo (Madness).

Then it all started, overnight we became a very popular band at that time to our homeland of Yugoslavia. We played at all possible festivals and then something unexpected happened. We had an appointment to record LP on March 15, 1992. We never recorded that LP. On the exact date of March 15, 1992, the war started in my city. Like all my friends, I went to war, I became a soldier. I fought against people who used to be my neighbors once. It was the hardest period of my life. Three years after, the war stopped and my band was broken up a long time ago. Some left the country, some died in the war, so I remained, the only member of that band Ludilo in my city.

The years went by, I played with other bands, but it was not like it used to be. And so, in 2000 I met my wife. She came from Australia on vacation. It was love at first sight. I guess my destiny was already determined then. We were married and I came to Australia. I did many jobs to support my family because I got a son in 2002. Because of all this, I did not have much time to play the guitar as it used to be. Sometimes because I was tired and sometimes because my son slept so it should have been silence. Now I work as security at the airport, Aviation Protection Officer. I never had the chance to play in any band anymore. It was not so important to me, my family was the most important to me. Although I still play in my man cave, I have 4 guitars, 2 Gibson Les Paul, Jackson, ESP LTD and Marshall Amplifier.

And I have my wife and son who are most important to me. You see, when you are young, you think that you will do some things for the rest of your life. You have your dreams, but destiny is like that, everything changes overnight.

I'm not sad that everything has changed, I had my beautiful moments while I was playing in the band. Many people know me and for many I am still a legend but as the song says: Show must go on! And sometimes I ask myself:
Who am I?
I'm what you would never assume.
And I'm not, there is nothing that can be said at first glance.

Welcome to Steemit! I visited Yugoslavia (as it was then) in 1989. People were very friendly, although there was terrible inflation. I couldn't believe it when that terrible war started. It must have changed many lives for the worse. But you managed to come through it and build a new life.

Yes it is really beautiful country but politicians destroying everything. We are still good people.

Urgh - politicians are the pits! I hope to visit again someday.
