The phrase "Life is not fair" has been repeated severally in different social circles so much that it's no longer news. People everywhere go through pathetic experiences that ultimately drive them to that same conclusion; Life is not fair.
The death of a child, loss of a job, shelter or whatever mishap that is bound to befall mankind as long as we are alive is part of the life we live in. Although some people are always at a mercy of life, others seem to appear untouched. But truth be told, no one is exempted from trials and other life's vagaries. No matter how beautiful, rich, influential we are, we are not above it. What's more, the rich also cry.
No matter how beautiful, rich, influential we are, we are not above the vagaries of Life
Oftentimes I'd hear people sharing their tales of woes, comparing and contrasting the details of one with the other. I've once been at the scene of such exchange where a group of motorcyclists were like "See, your suffering no reach my own, if u see the kind suffer way I don't suffer ehn... u go fear”. "Abeg, when did suffering become a competition? Abi, is there a take home trophy for whoever tops the "suffering chart"? Because the way people go on and on about their hard luck stories ehn, you will think there's a panel of judges taking down points with which they award marks at the end of the story.
As cathartic as this experience may be though, it is highly detrimental to the progress or growth of the person/s in question which further limits or removes the chances of overcoming the prevailing condition. The fact that there are willing listeners who sympathise with them perpetuates the feeling that life can't be better than what they already have as what's obtainable within ten miles of their location is the same as theirs. Overall, the conclusion is to accept their fate and passively resign to life like soulless puppets dragged around by unseen forces.
However, as daunting as life may seem, the choice is yours to determine whether you'd be overwhelmed and fail or you'd consciously change the direction your life is heading and to actually become a person of reckon in life.
People who succeed are not mediocre or hopefuls that lie around waiting for a miracle to happen. No! They actually grab life by the horns and strategically determine the course it would follow. True lasting success stems from the desire, the will and devotion to succeed. Stop blaming others or making excuses for your failure but make the most of what you do have. God won't bless what you won't do.
You will succeed!!!
Have a great day!!

Nice post and very motivational. Life is fair if only we decide to grab every opportunity that comes our way and make it golden
Thank you for your comment @zizymena
Indeed, opportunities come our way daily even within our relationships. We must identify them and make good use of them.
