I am sad that your job sucks you but as you are mentally strong and do a lot of physical exercises so you are balanced. I am seeing that you are doing well here in steem, so why not making it a life changing career for you?

Well that's a good question my friend...honestly I am a very conservative person when it comes to financial planning and I want to make sure I am truly ready to leave the salary and the benefits I have at my current job. I know I could get another job at another company but I have friends who are in the same field who are just as bad off (or worse) and many of them earn less than I do and they do similar type of work. That's what keeps me there (particularly the health insurance-- its better than at most government jobs in the U.S. and better than 95% of other companies).
However, I do have a long term plan to create multiple sources of income that are NOT my current job that can sustain my family and I at some point. It's just a matter of getting those multiple ventures off the ground and running so the income is steady and reliable enough so that I can someday turn in my two weeks notice to my employer and say "see ya later!" So yes maybe in a certain period of time blogging can be part of my income, but I'm not in a position right now where I could survive off my earnings here alone. Right now I save pretty much every bit of my earnings and power them up. That way I'm building a nice base of Steem Power that could potentially be life-changing at some point. The timing also kind of depends on where the price of STEEM goes in the future though...for sure. I'm pretty optimistic about it but I am not ready to rely on it to pay my mortgage and bills (yet).
