My life of music, Things that are learned in music classes.

in #life7 years ago (edited)

What is music for us? What brings us? How do we value it? Each of us would give a different answer to these questions but surely we would soon reach a common point: Music is important, is part of our life and enriches us in every way. We know it because we live it and enjoy it every day, we do not doubt it nor do we need scientific studies that corroborate it. However, if we focus on music as an educational subject, are we clear about the power of music to educate? Do we consider music fundamental in the formation of people? What do we really learn in music classes?

The world of music is great and encompasses many themes, aspects and approaches that make music a well of interesting knowledge. The music is full of educational qualities that we must take advantage of at all levels.

I am a musician and I am 5 years old with Trombon and Euphonium. In my life as a musician I've traveled to different places in America, like USA, Colombia.

What do we learn in Music class?

Obviously, in music class we learn musical contents on different and varied subjects: musical genres, music history, instruments, voice, musical groups, elements of music, sound, music in the media, etc. . That work with all kinds of materials and educational activities. We also learn to play musical instruments, keep the rhythm of songs, sing melodies, actively listen to classical and current auditions, analyze works, etc. Another important aspect is that music offers students new ways of expression and learning, encourages creativity and contributes to the development of basic skills.

I went to college to do sound engineering and DAWs

One thing I learned about was the formation of the ear, how we hear sound and how we perceive it, how sound travels through solids and air and more. I also learned about various problems and ways to mitigate, use or solve things like standing waves and unwanted reflections.

Years after, I am interested in light reading of scientific subjects such as (in no particular order of importance) quantum theory, how light works, how computers work and other stuff like how phased signals can be combined then split to allow more info and multiple info types to be sent down wires, even using things like house mains electric to send internet signals.

One thing that still consistently strikes me is, its all vibrations.

The humble sine wave is the basis for everything, ever.

Good Concept!
