January 2025 Income Sources..... ALL CHANGE (AGAIN!)

in #life4 days ago

It's remarkable how my income sources have changed in the last year, not necessarily ways I am happy with, but I've certainly kept the monkey off my back and managed to maintain a decent standard of living and save some money too.

And things are looking good at least for the first quarter of 2025, and 3 months of security is pretty good in this day and age!

Once again I won't divulge my actual income below, I'll keep it in percentages of the total, but I will say I'm COMFORTABLE!

MAIN FIAT INCOME SOURCES

This is for December 2024 I've actually reduced the work income down slightly to reflect my slightly lower income for the next three months...

Work - is from my TWO jobs, that's 4.5 days a week, so near enough full time, making up 68% of my total income. HEFTY!

Blog ads, down again from the last few months, but still 23%, and revision sales slipping to only 6.2% of my income....

My savings interest was 2.5%, not a huge contribution, but better than nothing....

If I included HIVE earnings....

Obviously this is only hypothetical as Hive isn't money, it's just tokens, but if I were to include a hypothetical amount I might be willing to draw down on a monthly basis, and amount which would still allow to me to build stake then things would look like this...

chart (11).png

Hive earnings would only be worth 8.5% of my monthly income, not that significant, sure a helping hand, half a day's wages right there, but not enough to live off alone, nowhere near it!

And if I gave up one of my two jobs...

That's the plan in Spring 2025, and here's what happens then...

chart (12).png

Yowswer, things start to look pretty balanced.

Paid work goes down to 40%, slightly more than my blog ads and revision sales, and a decent 12% chunk made up by Hive.

On having a large work income again final thoughts...

I mean it feels nice having all that money, and the pension is good, and it's OK for now.

However I do feel like I am working, ALL THE FUCKING TIME!

Although that is only during the day, my jobs aren't in my head over the weekend or in the evenings, like used to be the case with teaching, I can literally show up at 9.00 and then work, and then leave at the end of the day and completely switch off.

So it feels OK. Obvs I'd like to work less, but I'm kind of in the mood to make hay while the sun shines.

Will review in April and see where I am then!

I don't think much about work outside my regular hours. Have to make the most of my free time. I'm fortunate in being secure despite my other half cutting her hours. Hive could not pay my bills yet, but maybe one day...

It's nice to have that security of income for sure. Hive may pay our bills, for around a day or two at the peak of the bull market!
