If you've never experienced any unexplained phenomena, it's easy to dismiss it as bullshit. I don't believe every story I hear about ghosts or hauntings either, despite the several things I've witnessed. In fact, I don't believe in ghosts. I think when we die, we leave this earth and after that, I have some theories, but no answers. I guess I look at it this way- why would someone's grandma come back to make their life hell when they could've done it when they were alive lol! Well, something like that. At any rate, I do believe in the spirit world, good and evil. I know many people that have traded stories and even shared experiences with me that were beyond explanation. I'll start with the least crazy one. The others, I'll save for another time.
My boyfriend and I were housesitting for his parents while they were out of town. They live in a nice normal neighborhood, and I really love their house. His mom has a flair for design and a serious decorating habit! No space is empty in their home. The walls are a deep red in some places, contrasting beautifully with the stained wood. (The image from pixels was pretty close to give you the feel of the interior actually, just not enough furnishings!)
We were outside in the garage enjoying our music and cocktails. We don't have much outside living space, being that we live in an apt. so it was great to just relax and enjoy the California evening. At one point I had to pee, so, I went to do that. As I'm doing my business I hear the French doorknob and I see it slowly move up and down a couple of times. "That little bastard!" I think to myself. "Very funny!" I call, but no answer. I was thinking, ooh this is like a horror movie, I'm the skeptic sitting duck! See, I wasn't scared, but I soon would be. I opened the door and he wasn't there. He wouldn't have had the time to run away that fast. The other problem was that they have hardwood floors and a very creaky hallway. You really cannot sneak in that house.
I go outside smirking to hide my creeping sense of dread. "Very funny, real good one." My boyfriend is just sitting there innocently drinking his cran-raspberry vodka with an orange slice (his delicious creation you must try sometime). The serious look on his face when he heard what I was accusing him of made it clear. He wasn't screwing with me. See, he's really freaked out to be alone in that house. He's had experiences there his whole life. He doesn't even want to inherit it someday, he's so convinced it's got something going on.
We still talk about the creepy experiences we've had there, but for me, seeing that door handle move was the most inexplicable one that happened to me in that house. I know some of you are thinking that I was just drunk and imagined it, but I assure you, I was on my first drink and I can hang! We did get plastered of course, how else were we gonna sleep that night?

Have you ever had any scary encounters? Are you a skeptic? I'd love to hear your stories too! Please share!
I have had so many strange things go on in my life that I stopped sharing the stories, but I am certain that like the light spectrum of visible light, we can only see part of what's there.
My views now go way out in "woo woo" land -- Cuil Theory, Spooky Action at a Distance, multi-verse, ect -- including things that are starting to alter our time/space fabric like quantum computing (look up D-Wave computers) and the emergence of AI.
The one thing I know is that I know nothing and nothing/everything I know is not what it seems (lol), i.e. like the spectrum of visible light, I assume there is more data that I simple do not see, or even know about.
The mystery of it all. . .
I loved this story, thank you for sharing. :)
I've never heard of Cuil theory or any of the other things you're citing. So much to learn! Thanks for reading as always! I really appreciate your friendship around here. I plan on writing more up. If you do feel like doing the same let me know if I don't reply on it, because that will mean I missed it. Some people I follow go crazy with the resteems, so my feed gets overwhelmed some days.
Yes, I totally appreciate you as well, this place is getting better the more people I find that I "vibe" with.
Check out this cool post with a great award winning animation:

That's some heavy stuff! I can't pretend I understand!
I'm not sure I do. hahahaha.
I love pondering it though.
Have a hamburger 🍔
LOL... I'll never think of a hamburger in the same way again.
Scary encounters are subjective. Someone's scare may just be another person's play.
Fair enough. By that do you mean some enjoy paranormal experiences or that my boyfriend was messing with me?
Ummm guys? I just went to turn on my bedroom light and the lightbulb blew. I'm not even kidding!! Yikes!
That sure is spooky, I don't know how I'd react.
It was weird because I didn't feel initial fear. I wasn't thinking it was creepy until I realized he wasn't in the house waiting to jump out and scare me.
You inspired me to write of another of my experiences, I put your handle, @renodakota, in the title.
There is so much yet to be figured out, there is so much energy that we have yet to understand. I do believe in this and more.
Me too. I am thankful for the mystery, it keeps me interested.
It's always a great thing to keep an open mind☺️
Yup, I can relate. I've had a few 'weird' unexplainable happenings, but I'd rather put them down to science rather than spooky theories. That's not to say I didn't have the bejesus knocked out of me. 'Things' in the sky, electronic devices ALL turning off at once - that was the weirdest because it wasn't just lights, tv etc, but my game-boy and Discman too! I'll save the details for some blog posts. Thanks for giving me some ideas of what to write about :)
Please make sure you draw my attention to your post!
Will do :)
