What if our idiosyncratic bodily symptoms are actually hidden super-powers?

What if our idiosyncratic bodily symptoms are actually hidden super-powers? My youngest daughter has had an issue with her right eye since birth. It wanders outwards when she focuses on distant objects. For a while she wore eye patches to try to correct it, and when that wasn’t working, there was talk of surgery, which I instinctively felt should wait.

Lately, it has become apparent that she can control this eye wandering, and is actively choosing to ‘see double’ whenever she wants. I’ve noticed this eye wandering in subtle trance states and moments when we play games of telepathy, which she’s remarkably good at. It also occurs whenever she meets someone new, and she disregards any conventional politeness to squint both eyes in a slightly alarming way, and scrutinise… her right eyeball rolling backwards like she’s scanning for something I can’t see.

I read recently about an adult with this similar eye ‘problem’. It was fixed with surgery, but then the rest of their body started to express strangely similar symptoms. It was as though the eye had been expressing something important and essential for this body, and when it was thwarted, that expression still sought to manifest through other physical channels.
What happens when we stop trying to ‘fix’ these things, and feel into more closely into what they are trying to express? When we listen-feel more acutely, with exquisite attention, we may discover extraordinary extra-sensory perceptions that until now have gone unnoticed, because our scientific method has thus far precluded such things from existing.
