RE: Sometimes it takes a crisis to reveal the truth

in #life8 years ago

@thecrytofiend, I've been a massage therapist for 25 years. I specialize in chronic pain, neurological conditions and autoimmune diseases. As a result I am also a cannabis coach. I'm in Canada, but I can point you in the right directions to things you might research/try to help your condition, regardless of where you are located. I also have MS, myself, so have a personal connection to nerves that can get attacked as a result of other processes going on in the body.
First step, for grabbing the reins on the pain, is to fix your sleeping cycles, then block pain, then tackle your eating lifestyle. I don't know what your circumstances are but I could recognize through your writing that you are dealing with internal neuropathic pain. Just know that I am happy to help you. Hang-in-there.

That's OK I am fine now. That was 2 years ago when I was in hospital with acute pancreatitis which then proceeded to chronic pancreatitis. I don't have pain anymore but my pancreas doesn't work so I have to take insulin and digestive enzymes with my food. It is a hassle but thankfully I don't have any chronic pain. Some people do end up with neuropathic pain - in pancreatitis the major risk is from pancreatic enzymes digesting your internal organs and causing infection. That is probably also the cause of the pain and there may well be a neuropathic component as nerves end up being damaged by the enzymes and subsequent inflammation. I did have residual pain for about 3 or 4 months which have been a result of this but like I said it has gone now.

Oh, I'm so glad to learn that @thecryptofiend!
Hopefully others will read your post and the comment thread and it will help others to know that they are not alone.

Thank you. Yes:)
