RE: How I Achieved Success in 2017, What I Learned, and How I can Improve

in #life7 years ago

I can say from personal experience that it's a complete waste of time to get a degree these days. I graduated in 2000 from a Bachelor of Science program and the value of that degree was about zero in the monetary sense. I think it's actually of negative value these days as the value proposition has gotten worse with the huge tuition increases. I doubled down on my chosen career path and got an MBA to sort of give myself a skill set that would allow me a way out of the biological sciences in 2008-10, but that literally only got me to a salary level that I would have been making a few years into a trade out of high school, which is what I would have been doing otherwise. I probably could have pursued music at a more appropriate age as well if I hadn't spent my most productive years squandering my time on a fruitless degree and profession. Regardless, glad you're doing well Sterlin. I was worried with your absence here that something might be wrong, but turns out the opposite was true! I've been getting showered with good news like this so far in 2018. Let's hope the rest of the year goes the same way for us all.
