ANOREXIA: Whose The FAT Impostor In The Mirror? “HELP ME PLEASE”

There Can Never Be Too Many Awareness Campaigns
About The Killer Condition---ANOREXIA!

It is a metal heath condition and if given the right medical support is treatable. And yet the number of deaths is still rising--so awareness campaigns are vital.

There is no exact given age for anorexia, however, girls around the onset of puberty are more at risk for developing the eating disorder. Someone whose anorexic, their body weight is typically 15% below their usual weight.

The victim, because that’s what they are (to their own thoughts and imaginations) will go to great lengths to get the extra weight they see--- that’s NOT truly there… off---deceiving others throughout the process. Taking laxatives, exercising and starving the body of food are common actions taken to do this.

Of all psychiatric disorders this has the greatest mortality rate—between 5-20%. Most deaths are down to medical instances connected to starvation and suicide. Even the bony skinniest anorexic after looking in the mirror, see’s fatness (distorted image), which will urge them on to lose weight. Anorexics tend to develop strange eating behaviours and this usually draws the attention of others that’s concerned about the well-being of the suspected anorexic.

The surprising thing is, although the anorexic person may not consume food themselves they have no problem being around it. If you’re in a situation and monitoring someone you believe has anorexia, prepare for resistance and possibly anger if you take up the matter with them.

Symptoms:

Periods cease
Refusing to eat
Extreme panic over calories
Depression
Weak
Dry skin
Breathlessness

Some outcomes of anorexia are low body temperature, irregular heartbeat, shrunken bones and even more serious... permanent stop to usual growth. There is no known proof to support what causes anorexia, but what we do know is, anorexia is real and happening to someone as we speak.

All we can do in the way of support is to get as many as it takes awareness alerts out there in hope those life threatening deceiving imaginations become a thing of the past for the ANOREXIC…
