Is past the only existing part of time ?
I know it may sound ridiculous, but I've thought about it many times and never did I come to a conclusion. What I'm writing is pure philosophical speculation as far as I'm concerned. Anyways, let's get to the meat of the topic.
I'll represent arguments in a sort of a list form since I think it'll be the most readable way to present it.
Past
We have proof that the past happened, we have photos, artifacts and many other things that prove the past happened. Therefore past surely must exist.
Present
Present might actually be an illusion. After all there is a slight delay between light bouncing off of objects, hitting our retinas, then the impulse going to our brain and our brain making out an image. Yes the delay may be very minimal, but it still exists which technically makes us see in the past.
Future
Future hadn't happened yet, there's no proof that future exists. Besides we can manipulate future by our "present" or past actions.
But does that mean that only past matters ?
ABSOLUTELY NOT.
To be honest it's other way around in my opinion. Yeah it's important to learn from the past so the history doesn't repeat itself but if you think about it past happened, and "what's done can't be undone". And besides, you'll have to live through the future, you already lived through the past and present which technically is past also, leaving only future to live. So why not make it the best future to live through ?
