Remember the days you felt AMAZING!! Everything was going well, life was flowing beautifully and all of a sudden your slammed into the dirt head first.
What did you do?
- Lay there defeated?
- Sit up and whinge and moan about how bad things are?
- Get up,brush yourself off and keep going?
Take a good look at your reaction to what life deals you. Have a think about why you react that way.
- If you laid there crying, defeated with no strength to get up, you have a problem to address-Are you burnt out? Do you have self worth issues? Is your internal chatter all negative? Are you not standing up for yourself? Do you want to give up? Do you think 'why me?'
- Quieten your mind and relax your body. Give yourself a break. Do things to make yourself feel good. Talk with friends and family. Laugh with friends. Move your body, shift from that environment to something you enjoy. Listen to music you love - these things with help get you back up.
- If you sit up and start whinging, you could be playing the victim role, wanting attention/sympathy, heading towards being burnt out, feeding your negativity, thinking its not fair, it always happens to me, its someone else's fault.
- Stop talking negative to yourself and about others. Take responsibility for your actions and words. Be grateful you have what you do and you are alive. Show kindness to others. Stop judging yourself and others. Do healthy things that make you feel good and you enjoy - blaming others will only make you feel more helpless, you are in control of your own life.
- If you can get up and brush yourself off, you will succeed. Sometimes it takes going to #1, then #2 to get here. You are mentally strong, you have learnt lessons, you know you will survive and you get on with it, you are grateful for everything you have and for life itself, you will try again. You can forgive and love even though life tries to push you down. You know the feeling of happiness is just around the corner and start walking towards it.
Life is a roller coaster, some days are great, others are mundane, some are just awful. How you react to these days will determine your next step in life.
