Flying hummingbird ✓

Did you know that a hummingbird is not such a fragile creature as it seems, but an aggressive fighter for its offspring and territory? In a storm and a storm, this tiny bird weighing 7-20 grams will overcome 1000 km across the ocean without landings in 20 hours! Regarding the mass and the size of its body, its speed is 13 times that of a cheetah. Immobility for the hummingbird concept is completely unreal. Demonstrating the technique of seduction in aerial dance, the male, like a multicolored rocket from a height of 50 meters enters into a peak, and develops a speed exceeding the fighter with the included afterburner; in these few seconds it is 10 times higher than the acceleration of free fall (the cosmonaut has seven times overload). And the moment of braking !? No living creature of the sky can repeat it! The heart of a hummingbird is incredibly huge - half a tiny calf. At rest, it beats "just" 500 beats per minute!
In the mountain village of Mindo (2 hours from the capital of Ecuador), completely surrounded by jungle, there is the opportunity to observe the hummingbirds almost in natural habitat, I then specially arrived. But even more I was surprised by the fact that I was the only one willing to do it. The whole huge farm of butterflies and hummingbirds was at my complete disposal, no one except me and these living beings! I was just let in, took $ 2 for the entrance, and do whatever you want. I chose the most comfortable hammock, took the camera, and dissolved into the sound of the beating of small wings. The atmosphere is surprisingly relaxing, despite the buzzing sounds, lightning-fast appearances and disappearance of birds. At one point, I fell asleep for 10 minutes, and woke me ... a butterfly sitting on the forehead. What a great place!
