VOICES IN MY HEAD

It's amazing how inanimate things could have the loudest noise. You may look fine, and calm but could sometimes be filled with a thousand voices in your head. Each one trying to speak to you, I mean the real you. Trying to give you a perception of who you are.

In the midst of a thousand voices, you are required to give heed to one.

When you require something and you do not have, or try to get something but didn't; embarked on a project and failed, voices come to you telling you,you are inadequate.

Our experiences are more than events in time, but voices in disguise, telling us what they think we are. They are voices, but not mere voices, because you live your life daily, according to the voice you have believed.

Thoughts bring you voices. You remember your mistakes. You remember how you failed to keep your promise, how badly you messed up. The voice comes "You are really not so good after all, you are not different from others"

Things have been going smoothly for a while now; you didn't see it coming, but there was a big hit and all of sudden, it's like I'm back to where I began from. Voices come to you, "Nothing good lasts forever. It's a problem with you. Nothing good stays with you"

You really hoped this would be the perfect relationship. She is the One you thought, and then there's a misunderstanding, she's taking it personal, before you know it, it's over. It's good bye. (Sigh) voices, no one wants you!

What do I do, when I have a thousand voices in my head?

  • DEVELOP FILTERS

You cannot stop birds from flying over your head, but you can certainly stop them from perching g or building nests in your head.

Your mind is the door to your spirit and as the scriptures advices: Mount guard over it

Begin by saying to yourself that you listen to the right words.

Believe the best in people. Even when you hear things about another person, you can choose to hear differently, choose to believe the best, choose to accept that the person can change and this is not all about that person.

You develop filters by avoiding the wrong communication. Someone is trying to make you a garbage dump, you block the person right there. If you cannot do it physically, block the person in your minds. Now all these are external strategies, but what about the one in my head?

  • FIGHT THOUGHTS WITH THOUGHTS

These voices are thoughts trying to paint a you to you that you do not like, so consciously put voices in your head about you that you want. Invest the right thoughts into your mind, by reading the right materials. And listening to the right things.

This will go beyond reading to giving you a picture of you-a mind set, and so everytime there is a contrary thought to what you've consciously built, you fight that thought with the right thought you've built inside.

Not all thought will go away because of the presence of another thought so:

  • FIGHT THOUGHTS WITH WORDS

The mind is a great tool, but the mouth is a greater tool.

When the voices seem to be so loud, and the thoughts appear persistent. Speak out, speak out to your self. Speak loud if you may(but of course not in the presence of others). Tell yourself who you truly are. Speak your mindset to you. Convince yourself that you are not what these voices say.

It's easy to advice others, but the number one person you must advice is you. It's easy to lead others, but the first person you must lead is you.

The voices are real, I know, but good is greater than evil. Positive thoughts and words will overthrow negative thoughts and words
