Tarot Card for Today: Two of Pentacles

The Two of Pentacles

I drew a card for the day and drew the Tw of Pentacles - everything very much ip in the air (the two pentacles), nothing decided but still anything possible (the lemniscate shape). The water in the background, the storm-toss'd ship all show turmoil, on a deep level. The page-like figure in the picture looks worried; and yet a step back, and he can change that energy.

I wanted to raise an issue, that of different tarot decks. I use the Rider-Waite, from which the above is taken. The Morgan Greer, with its close-ups and its Pagan feel, has an energy that is less light. The birds in the background speak of a need for communication, and link the Pentacles of the Earth to the Air. The Sea gives us water - but where's the fire? What do we need to kickstart us?

Surely this is the World at the moment? Unrest everywhere, Brexit, Donald Trump, Korea ... but the energy of this turmoil is dynamic. Just as humans can shape their future, so can we on an individual basis. Of course, the two are related.

Even the correspondences and dissonances between the two versions of the Two of Pentacles above reflect this concept. The tarot reflects the World, but also holds the keys to creating our own futures ...
