YOU ARE THE LEADER OF YOUR WORLD

Leaders are those whom we look up to, to lead us in the future or to a desired designated part. Leaders are the vision carriers. And to be a good leader, aspiring leaders must learn from past and current leaders. Though, there have been series of debates on leaders being born and not raised. In my candid opinion, I think both are true. Some persons are born leaders while some other leaders were made. It doesn't quite matter if a leader is born or made, it is the quality expected of a leader that is the main focus.

For leaders that are made, when the leaders they look up to are nothing to write home about, what should we expect from such a leader in the near future? I remember vividly what a great man said to me, "your mentors and role model matters a lot." When a leader is surrounded by too many bad leaders that he has to pick from such a leader to learn from, it becomes a problem to change the mind set of the made leader. This has been the problem of Leaders in Politics. Speaking of bad leaders, of course they were once good and were called "future leaders" but what made them turn bad? Sixty years ago, there were children/youths whom were called future leaders and today they are leaders, bad leaders!!!

This brings us the question, is there really going to be a change in leadership style and behavior in the near future? Are we going to see true great leaders emerge? I don't think so. This seems like an unending chain!

Just this morning, I was having a chat with a friend and she said: "In a country like this, who is to be blamed? I don't think our generation should be blamed for all this nonsense at all." I was thrill and wanted to hear more then she said, "how can you blame this generation when all our lives, we have been exposed to corruption and has always thought that it was the best way to live? We were made to believe that winning a political position or rather winning an election has qualified us to be leaders? If we are the future leaders living under the corrupt government,eating corrupt food of thought, bathing with corrupt water of deception, even breathing corrupt and polluted air, how can we be blamed?" Too bad she thinks this way though.

This is where I have to call on all aspiring leaders to stand up for a true course. You must learn to chart a course that will cause a positive change in your environment, society and nation at large. If you actually doesn't like your environment or life style, change it. We should stand up to make things right, and be the true leaders of tomorrow, so when our children are called future leaders, we would smile knowing they would fulfill the true meaning of leadership. We should learn to fight for the good of our nation, no-one would do that for us but ourselves, this is our battle, and the earlier we work towards a brighter future than waiting for the government to change, the better it will be for us all.

We should stand tall, do what's right and with God's help, we would live the desired life of love, prosperity and health. Finally, we must learn to pray for the good of our nation and our leaders so we can have a peaceful life; I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior…”-1 Timothy 2:1-3. No matter who you are, you are the leader of your world and the leader of your desired tomorrow, so do what's right and trust in God...

Think leadership; act leadership and live leadership!!!
