My experience with DMT

Hey Steem It, this is my first post! I look forward to being a part of this awesome community and posting a lot more.

Some will tell you that skydiving or swimming with sharks is an intense and crazy experience, I have to say you that DMT was the most intense experience I've ever had.

I've tried a fair bit [a lot] of psychedelics over the past 3 years since I found out they existed and always wanted try DMT since I first heard about its effects. One day I luckily got hold of a few grams through mutual friends. I was very excited but also very anxious.

I've read a lot about the effects and experiences of DMT and wanted to set a beautiful scene/environment for my first-time. I had a seat with a couple of good friends in the botanical gardens here in CHCH, New Zealand. It was a beautiful warm, sunny day and the sky was clear apart from a few large fluffy clouds.

We started by packing a small cone with a pinch or 2 [I don't recommend doing this at all. We were idiots for not thinking of accurate dosage size] of the yellow-ish crystals in a cone and lite it with a butane lighter.

I had first toke, held it in for the long as I can. On exhaling, I saw the world around me turn into what looked like a massive sand storm rising from the ground. The trees in the garden started falling around me as if they were just huge painted canvases. I closed my eyes and felt myself being sucked away from reality, it was as if I literally left my body and jumped on a roller coaster ride out of this world.

Somewhere, out in the space of my mind and passed all the crazy, incredibly beautiful geometrical patterns, I saw a figure, a human outline. The figure was very blurry, and it was slowly ascending down on a cloud straight towards me, all I could do is stare at it and think wtf is going on.. just before it reached me, I opened my eyes to a sound saying are Ok man?

I felt amazing after I was fully aware of myself again, it was the closest thing to dying I will ever experienced, and I'm glad i did it. It felt like i was gone for hours and hours but I was told I was away for 20-ish minutes. There is nothing in this world that can compare to what I saw!

Of course, I know it was all the just all the effects of a chemical on the human body and deep down during the trip that's what kept me mentally together, but wow what an amazing chemical...

Awesome! I read DMT: The Spirit Molecule by Dr. Rick Strassman and have always been very interested in trying it.. Unfortunately the closest that I came was trying Salvia..
But I described my experience of that if you want to check it out :D

I haven't read the book but have seen the doco by the same title. Great article! I had a chance to try salvia when it was legal here but didn't take up the offer because of stories I've heard about it.

Lol yeah my friend that has done books of L wouldn't even try, but was it explained anything like my experience?

I had the chance to try DMT once, but did not because I was too scared but actually had Salvia with me at that time.. I always heard the whole "cannon blast" and feeling of not being "alive" like as a human anymore

Haha your friend sounds like me. Yes and no, your experience sounded like a mild Salvia trip [i think it comes in strengths, x20, x40 etc]. I was told that salvia is close in experience to DMT but salvia is a darker and more disturbing trip. I guess that's possible with all psychedelics but from all the stories I've been told about salvia I am yet to hear a very positive one.
"I always heard the whole "cannon blast" and feeling of not being "alive" like as a human anymore" - yeah that's pretty much how I experienced it. I remember walking around the gardens afterwards and seeing the beauty of nature and the world in a new light. A view that wasn't distorted by the human ego. I'm not the best at putting feelings into words but it was an out of this world feeling/experience.

I tried Yopo nuts years ago, it's a DMT containing plant and when you snore it, you will get a heavy trip of about one hour. This was really the most extreme trip i ever had in my life. An great experience, but to heavy to do it again.

This is what I thought about DMT too. it's too heavy to enjoy recreationally. If you want a tool to open up your mind and maybe give you a different [potentially more positive] view on life, DMT is it.

Have you read any of the cthulu mythos? The great race of the Yith is something cool to check out. there are videos on youtube explaining who they are. Its pretty fun to listen to when youve had "experiences" Hell the cthulu mythos in general is trippy, but it some way, something is telling me, ;) to tell you to check out the great race of Yith. Trippy

Trippy indeed! No, i havn't.. looks very interesting. Will Definitely check it out
