This is not what comes to mind when you think of Ice Skating

This is a sport called Ice Cross Downhill and similar to Curling, you'll never hear about it and would probably forget it exist after this video.Redbull basically created this sport since the events entail making custom downhill tracks of jumps and turns on ice smooth enough to skate on. Most participants are primarily ice hockey players who can't resist the challenge of traversing something so rare.

This particular video above shows just how bonkers this shit is and how it is not to be taken lightly. Before I actually read the comments under the video, I knew the skater in black had broken his back...the height and angle of the fall was textbook...that and his resulting screams and lack of movement make it pretty apparent. This sport is.......I don't even know what to say. I actually roller skate quite well (grew up going to rinks) and have ice skated once so I know a thing or two about the dynamics of low friction and bipedal movement and this is CRAZY. This sport is every type of injury you've ever had just waiting to happen but humans will be humans and limits will be pushed. Here's an example of Ice Cross when shit doesn't hit the fan.
