it's quite drastic for the body. my doc recommended doing it and sticking with it for as long as poss. every time you dip in and out you place quite a strain on the body. especially when you stop eating carbs. it usually takes at least a week to adjust. the weakness with zero carbs can be helped by eating a lot of oil rich food. healthy fats are best. This helps. also having some protein rich snacks on hand are really useful. walnuts are a good option :)

In my experience, ketosis state hits within 72 hour. With high consumption of fats and fatty oils, the body will start to use the fat as an energy source and the tell-tale sign of this happening in breath and taste in mouth. Walnuts were a godsend, as well as natural peanut butter. Protein source was chicken and salmon (salmon has a ton of fatty acids).

The switch can be difficult, but again, for me, the mental part was hard...as I do love carbs!

we all love carbs. the cravings got so intense for me at one point it felt like my organs were starving. cutting down on carbs for everyone is a good thing and I've told my overweight friends.. if you want to lose half a stone in a week or two, stop eating carbs. this is mostly due to the fluid retention which is immediately lost due to no longer being of benefit to the body !! Best of Luck in 2018. my other tip is keep away from sweeteners, they trick the brain (in a bad way) ! PEANUT BUTTER WITH NO SUGAR IS NITRO
