There is this common saying that "there is no second chance for a first impression". Make a critical analysis of those you don't "like" or "dislike", you may hardly find a reasons to this dislike, you just dislike for no just course. Take your time, how was your first meeting?
How first impression affects the following areas of life:
Phone calls:
It's natural to have different voice tones during phone call conversation on different callers. This mainly can be traced to how and where they met first. E.g Phone calls to a person met first at a club party will be different from one first met in church.Trust:
It's so difficult to earn ones trust. One trick to earning trust easily is having a very good first impression from the one you seek his trust.
Trust lost at first impression may never be recovered.Respect: Respect should be earned and not forced.
As often said "You're addressed the way you're dressed". You can't expect to earn respect when you dress as a houseboy to a big man's office, this may resolve to ridicule or embarrassment.Friendship:
Bad first impression gives people no option of making friends with you, it deprives you of friendship.Opportunities:
This cannot not be over emhapized. It deprives one opportunities to things of life, this may be due to lack of trust concieved on the first meeting.
The list is endless.
Pay more attention to your first (meetings, assignments, etc), you may have no second chance to redeem yourself from a first bad impression.
Very truth.
Great Post.
