Hello people ,
-What causes heroin addiction for example, that's a naïve question, right?
The answer is simple, heroin is addictive to heroin, but I will explain to you how it happens.
If you use heroin for 20 days, on the 21st day your body will begin to feel a keen desire to use it again because it contains chemicals that are attached to the body and that is the meaning of addiction.
Part 1 :
Almost everything we know about addiction isn't right :
-If you break your hips, you'll be transferred to the hospital and there they'll give you drugs like diamorphine for weeks or even months .
The drug they give you in the hospital is similar to heroin, but it is stronger than it is, and of whatever kind it can be bought by drug addicts because it does not contain the other substances that drug dealers add to their products to alleviate their severity.
There are people around you who take large amounts of real heroin in hospitals now, presumably some of them will be addicted, right?
Actually, it was studied, and it turned out to be untrue , you didn't turn out to be an addict after undergoing hip replacement, but how?
Our current theory of addiction is based on a series of experiments conducted earlier in the 20th century , a simple experiment , take a mouse and put it in a cage with 2 water pipes, one containing plain water and the other containing water with heroin or cocaine , almost every time that test runs, the rat become obsessed with the water of the drug and keeps coming back to get more until it kill him.
In the 1970s, professor of psychology Alexander observed something strange in that experiment, that the rat was in the cage alone, he had nothing to do but only the drug use, so he wondered what might happen if the experiment were conducted differently, and that's why he built a little garden in a rat cage with herbs and tubes and balls to play with and many friends to be happy together and do whatever they want while retaining the water tubular themselves and then something strange happened .
The rats in the "fun cage" didn't drink anything from the dope water , but you might think that's just the case with mice, right?
In fact, there was a similar experience with humans, the Vietnam War.
20% of the American soldiers in Vietnam were abusing a lot of heroin , american citizens were worried about the spread of thousands of addicts in their country when the soldiers returned after the war, but a study was conducted on returning soldiers and it reached a surprising conclusion that they did not use the treatment clinics of addiction and did not have difficulty in quitting the heroin , 95% of them stopped using drugs when they returned home.
If you believe the first theory of addiction, it makes no sense, and if you believe in Professor Alexander's theory, it makes sense.
Part 2 :
-If you were in a terrible jungle in a strange country where you wouldn't want to be and you were forced to kill and threatened to die at any moment, heroin abuse is a great way to spend your time there.
If you go home and meet your family and friends, it's like getting out of the first cage and getting into the "fun cage", that was Alexander's theory .
It's not about the chemicals, but the cage, we have to think about addiction in a different way.
Humans have an innate need for communication and bonding, when we are happy , we try to contact with people that are around us , but when we are not able to do so because of our feelings of distress, loneliness and sorrow, we tend to be associated with something that relieves us and gives us some comfort.
That thing may be the use of smartphones continuously, play video games, participate in social sites, or may be cocaine abuse , but in any case we will be bound by something, because that is our human nature.
The solution to get rid of unhealthy communication is to communicate with the people we love to be with them .
Addiction is a symptom of a crisis of lack of communication that we all feel.
In America, for example, the rate of friends of the average person has been decreasing since the 1950s and at the same time their spaces of their houses are widening , This indicates a preference for the home space on friends , and preferring things on communicate .
The war has been on drugs for about a century, and yet it has made everything worse.
Instead of helping people heal and live with us naturally we have renounced them from the society and we made hard for them to get jobs and stability , we found them in possession of drugs , we put them in prison cells which are practically cages , we put those who are not good in a situation that makes them feel worse and we hate them because they are not recovering .
We've always talked about individual recovery from addiction, but now we need to talk about social recovery because we have a general problem , we have to build societies like the "fun cage" and less similar to those isolated cages , we have to change our unnatural way of living and rediscover each other , the opposite of addiction is not moderation, the opposite of addiction is communication.
