Based on my experience, poverty is very subjective and relative. For example, I lived with nothing but a mat to sleep on and a little hut for a year, relying on two meals of rice gruel a day while living on a ashram in India, but it was pure bliss. Likewise, one should not assume that material possessions and some string of digits in a bank account make one rich. Really it’s about my level of perception, my quality of experience is what counts.
