Did you get from IKEA? I could use one too :P
I've never been able to follow IKEA"s instructions without assistance. So, no, I had to buy it pre-assembled and installed by a professional.

For me, yes, because, just like you, my senses take in an almost infinite array of various wave lengths and my poor addled and overworked brain must boil all that down to a bite sized and digestible representation of my reality (actually, I have three brains sharing the workload - but we won't get in to that now).
