@nonameslefttouse "When I grab life by the balls, I squeeze!"

Reminds me of the movie "Dirty Work". If you haven't seen it, stop whatever you are doing and do it now.

Also, this is the first post I have seen, but I am looking forward to the content up through 2, 3, and 10+ thousand followers!

I haven't seen that movie. I live in a cave when it comes to media these days. Too busy working on my own content!

If this is the first one, and since you like entertainment, I'm sure you'll find a few gems in my blog. Have fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILLY!!

... wait, what were we celebrating again?

Whoa! Careful with those flames!

put out that fire.jpg
Trying to burn the place down!?

I was going to go to Ibiza with that insurance money you ungrateful brat

OMG only me? That's so much responsibility.. JESUS SMOKEY WHY U DO DIS TO ME?!?

I saw that you were getting close the other day, the big ONE is worth mentioning by any means. Congrats!

I've been watching it. A couple of days previous, it seemed like I'd hit a wall, but that changed. I kept most of the other recent big numbers quiet. As I said, the significance behind this achievement has been somewhat diminished by those who'd prefer to treat everyone else like tagged cattle. I know how I got here, you know how I got here, I see you taking the same approach.... We're good! There's still reason to celebrate!

I passed six and seven hundred without a peep, I guess 1000 is worth a mention, won't be too long at the current rate, which like you said has questionable merit. If 700 followers meant even 100 votes it would be a thing, but it's not even close- number of followers is meaningless to a point, unless it's used as an indicator of how active one is on the site. But yes I know how we have done it; with honor and dignity and lots of real nice posts.

WooHoo,Yippity, Dippiddy Doo Dah Day. Great achievement. Now go get another 1000. Hurry up. Times a wasting. Get off your duff. Are you there yet? Why the hell not.

All joking aside good job mate.

Thanks @troyvandeventer!
But just know, if I was in such a hurry, I wouldn't remember how much you enjoyed that Iceholes post so many months ago. You would all be a blur to me. I don't forget you folks. When I say thanks, I'm speaking to each individual, because I know you're out there.

I am glad you remember the Iceholes post. I sure don't. Drop a link to refresh my memory, please.

Thanks for all that you do, I enjoyed this post. I started following you a while back and can honestly say that I read'em start to finish. What does Stephen King call'em? his "Constant Readers" Keep doing what you're doing and it will only grow! Congrats @nonameslefttouse

It feels like I'm publishing a magazine, one page at a time. Some people flip pages. It's a great feeling when I hear people are out there reading it front to back! Thank you!

WooHoo! Congrats on the milestone. You deserve all the success for being an awesome steemer and creator of great posts and art.

Thank you...

talking horse lady!

Congratulations @nonameslefttouse I do read your posts. They are certainly not what I normally read but you are part of the culture of steemit to me and broaden my perspective in unexpected ways. Well..you make me laugh.

Everything I do, in most cases, isn't what people would normally read! LOL! I enjoy breaking my own trails and for the most part, laughter is all I'm looking for. Sometimes I'm serious or feel like telling a dark story, but in the end, I just want you folks to be entertained. That's the name of this game.

One of the more impressive followings built due to you not following the herds of mindless crypto bloggers chasing those dolla dolla bills

Well, some of those folks taught me quite a bit, but I'm incredibly fussy about who I listen to. Others... show me an obsolete chart that nobody will ever need. Giving financial advice with a wallet worth $100. :) Those one's aren't chasing the money, they're chasing their tails!

Congrats! I hit 1,000 not too long ago myself and I find it kind of funny honestly. There are so many "new accounts" going for spam follows that I see like lvl 30 and 40 accounts with all of these giant follower numbers and it's funny because it just feels like doing it organically takes longer, but clearly it's more worthwhile. Glad to see another thousand-aire from "back in the day." LOL. :)

It's quite apparent, going for the natural approach is the best investment. I see those factory follower farmers. Man... some of those people will have their work cut out for them when comes time to unfollow because the accounts are either dead, or even worse, sold to advertisers and spammers! Quality over quantity. We stick with what's tried, tested and true.

Congrats on your achievement as well!

A squeezy balls splendid accomplishment! Hats off to ya!

And a happy squeezy balls day to you too!

Thanks!

Happy for you. Keep grinding man!

@oldtimer. You were one of the first. I appreciate it and thank you. I will, because I have nothing better to do!

I still check your posts from time to time, but lately I'm try to spend less time on steemit. Too much traffic on platform, but we want that, do we? I see you wallet is growing bigger and you're safe. Prepare for winter. It's coming fast. I'm supporting new people and also myself. Maybe I'll go full time steemit soon.

There is a lot of static traffic. Unfortunately, I don't think that's what we want. Quality blogs produced by quality bloggers. The quick buckers and their stolen content they "share" is the facebook thing to do. People do that for free and I'd prefer it stays that way. There's such a huge difference between content producers and content consumers. I still believe this place is here for content producers to thrive and shift the paradigm. Because of that belief, I work hard and stick to the original vision. Sure, the wallet grows, but it didn't grow because I required instant gratification. This is simply the place for people like me, and many others, to explore uncharted territory and be pioneers.

I agree with you view point, but content producers need content consumers. Think about theater. You need actors and audience otherwise it will not work. And blogging will be just one part (one community) of steemit blockchain in the future. Trade, banking, moving funds, ads.... It's coming.

Yes, and content consumers should be happy with the opportunity to earn while enjoying the show, rather than having to pay at the door. Instead, so many want more, and attempt production, don't have a knack for it, and quit the platform completely. Doesn't have to be like that!

You're right. But it's free market. Everybody can stay and engage or leave. It's a lot of room here and out of steemit also.

I just discovered you today, only been here a week -on steemit, not earth. I mean I'm on earth too, but new to steemit. From earth actually, as far as I know. I could've been lied to all my life though. But what is truth anyway these days? When you can believe the statements you choose whether they have facts behind them or not there are no lies, there is only your personal truth no matter how foolish- What was I saying? Oh, I think you have a strong writing voice. You're able to share you. It's cool. I'll keep reading.

That was some fun rambling. Don't worry, I don't know where I am half of the time either. Welcome to Steemit. I remember what it was like to read my first few and what those posts meant to me. I'm proud to be part of your welcoming matt. I can be a bit nutty at times, but I'm glad to hear you've been able to see past that and simply enjoy the presentation. Thanks a lot and good luck to you!

This exchange cracked me up! It's been awhile since I had time to read your comment sections. I recall saying this is steemit's rec center...that hasn't changed :)

Hasn't changed? Have you seen this place lately? Some days it's standing room only! I seem to be attracting some of the most interesting and genuine characters as well. It's been a lot of fun!

I meant that it was the rec hall of steemit, that part hasn't changed, lol, there was definitely a lot less people here at one point :)

i've read your post about the people that are beggin for you're vote by following you and place comments just for the votes and not even taking a time to actually read you're posts..

I am new to this steemit thing i don't understand the voting thing i only saw ''blogging'' with steemit and i immidiatly started .

i've come across you're page by now and this inspired me that we CAN DO earn something like appreciation for each article we write. I'm glad for you that you made a huge progression for the couple of months you've been on here..

Imma read couple of articles from the past from you, hope it's not boring to read :D:D.

It's been more than a couple of months, more like ten. Climbing the ladder here, anyone should be able to do it, provided they have some sort of talent as a blogger. Be your own version of professional and you'll be able to do great things. If you're slack, expect that in return.

You heard about the place and immediately signed up? That's a damn good sign you're already on your road to success. Those who are unsure quite often remain that way and don't get far. I was the same way. Signed up the instant I heard and haven't looked back since.

As for my previous, sure, it all depends on taste, but I somehow doubt you'll leave this blog without feeling entertained. Have at it! ...and thanks for looking.

Congrats @nonameslefttouse

Forget all the F4F bullshit going on, you've earned this.

I think that sticky little tag called "integrity" had something to do with it.

That little tag. I thought about slipping it in here again. I said some things, didn't offer screenshot style proof. Do I need to prove myself? How about I walk the walk as I talk the talk? Don't believe me? Go ahead, by all means, check! I do feel like I've earned this and I can comfortably know why.

Hey! Thanks for being around! You're one of the good ones!.... but don't let it go to your head! LOL

You can't prove integrity with a screenshot. ;-)

You've worked for and earned your achievements.

"When I grab life by the balls, I squeeze!" Ouch that hurts. Now I will need some ice! Congrats dear, you seriously deserved it! I am following you from my day one here and didn't miss a post. Love that salty humor of yours with a hint of jalapeño!

I'm glad you haven't missed a post, otherwise, rather than jalapeño, you'd be playing kethup!

HA!

See what I did there?

I'm still congratulating you on the 1000 followers even though I'm feeling the same about followers. When I first arrived here, I fell for the follow to be followed way too and quickly built up my number of followers but it didn't take long to discover that the number of my followers were not actually following judging from the number of eyeballs on my posts. So I started on a wrong footing and I guess there's no other way for me to learn the lesson. More impressively, and probably worth more congratulating will be your increase in SP. That's inspiring and thanks for letting me know that someone like you who have been around much longer still goes through similar daily struggles like a minnow like me. And most importantly, thanks for letting me know that your success is that you failed more times than most have tried. I'm not giving up and persisting on, and will be prepared to embrace failures along the way.

Ever since I started, I just let them come to me. Sure, I'm still out there mingling from time to time. Usually just to crack a few jokes, never expecting anyone to follow me. The best meals are prepared slowly. If you want fast food, you're eating the consequences. I do feel bad for those who focused so much energy in acquiring a blind following, the ones who won't see your work. I did my best to speak openly about the consequences on many occasions, so I at least know I tried to help with the right advice... but of course, the struggle is real, and those who could have used the knowledge failed to look. Too busy trying to get noticed, to notice.

Don't worry though. If you're here to blog, then stay, blog. Your rewards will come once your seats gradually begin to fill. I am proof this entire system works. Besides, you folks today just starting out are earning one hell of a lot more than we ever were months ago. If the value drops and money disappears, stay, blog away, you'll still earn Steem, then the value will spike and you'll be in the same boat as me. It's a long term time investment, but if you don't have time, don't bother.

I like the analogy of the fast food :) Yes, I guess patience is a virtue, especially here and I'm seeing it as a long term investment too. Thanks again, really appreciate you taking your time sharing your experiences.

Super congratulations on this, this is a really big achievement, time to celebrate.

Keep it up my man!

elevenbaner.jpg

Now there's a happy dance.
Thanks!

Nice man, hopefully one day i'll inspire that many people. And grabbing life by the balls is a good thing. Lol :)

You'll get there man! Just hold on tight!

Yay, congratulations on your 1000 followers! Somehow, I missed basically all of your posts lately. I think I'm too busy with... stuff... I'm not even sure. I miss a lot.

Stuff certainly does keep people busy. I know the feeling. Votes have been down, views have been down, but I keep plugging away and things are starting to normalize, kind of. I miss a lot too, but I follow a lot of people and try to bounce around. The recent hardfork messed with a lot of people, far more than it helped, which is unfortunate.

Yeah, I guess it's also to do a lot with the new members, making everyone less noticed. You know, I keep my rewards up a bit now with randowhale. I feel kind of bad for using it, but I don't know what else to do! It's not like I'm depending on my Steemit income, but in the next few months, I actually could really use it.

I guess I should mingle more again, but I'm not in a socializing mood most of the time :D

I have mixed feelings about the vote buying. Personally, I don't use it, because I feel others need it more. In the long run though, is it worth it? Spending money to make money is nothing new. Is the max potential vote still 5%? If that's the case, the max vote is only worth $5 minus what you spent. Then subtract the 25% curation reward pool at the end. The numbers don't really add up, in my opinion.

Yeah, it is a bit of a gamble, but I figured if my posts look to earn a bit more, maybe people will be more eager to take me seriously. I dunno.
You know what it is, everyone seems so focused on new members and supporting new members, that all the minnows who've been around for a while get lost in the mix somewhere. Someone told me a while ago he was surprised I'm not a dolphin yet, but I never got a big break from whales for anything. Newbies seem to sometimes get hundreds, simply for being new.

Not that I want to look like a whiny little baby, crying 'It's not fair!'. But it does feel like that sometime. I've been doing my best to help people out where I can, but stuff like that always goes unnoticed. Simply being new is way more effective it seems. It's just frustrating at times, so I'm testing out ways of helping myself get noticed. If commenting and blogging doesn't work, maybe post payouts will.

I understand that logic completely. I've experimented myself. I actually explained some of the psychology in this post. Even with my trademark flashy images, catchy titles and reputation... if I don't have money beside the post, people seem less likely to look. Followers will look, eventually, but catching new eyes on my work has become difficult.

It is strange that so many established members got cut off, or feel cut off and expressing that isn't whining. It's a simple fact. I don't understand the logic behind supporting new members, and leaving old ones in the dust. Sure, new members will be encouraged to stay, but older, proven members will leave, taking their SP with them, so that won't help retention or the value. Shortsighted thought process.

Aah, that's a good post. I do keep upvoting my own posts. I have experimented with keeping it at 0, but that did not yield good results at all. I don't feel like I'm entitled to a piece of the pie, but I do feel bad that newbies get favored over me, simply become they're new.

I'm not the best blogger out there, nor am I the best photographer. I enjoy my own written gaming stories and have gotten good reviews, but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. However, as far as I'm aware, the quality of my posts overall hasn't dropped, yet the number of upvotes has dropped dramatically. I have over 1000 followers, so it feels really crappy when I see newbies getting five times as many upvotes or payouts for something that's no higher quality than my posts.

Yes, I do think we should be kind to newbies. I've actually shared quite a few newbie posts a while back to get them some extra eyes. I just feel that we can welcome them in other ways, besides leaving the established members in the dust.

Happy numbering!

"Thank you. Thank you very much." -Elvis

Woot woot! Wait, did I just say that? What does that mean anyway, woot? Lol

Well if your fans are one of the reasons you keep coming back everyday then God Bless your fans since your blog is one of the reasons I love being here :)

No one can ever say you did any other way than yours, that is for damn sure, and is the reason I love it so much. So Thank YOU for giving us great art, entertainment, and even the occasional serious article, thanks for being you @nonameslefttouse!

Thanks for having my back @dreemit. You're one of the most legit ones out there. You've been watching this little show for a long time. Glad you still enjoy it!

Congratulations @NoNamesLeftToUse

Every one of those followers is well deserved as you are one of the greatest authors on this platform never seizing to put a smile on my face every day.

Cheers to another 1000!

Thanks a lot @arckrai. I always look forward to your visits.

Ma man!) You know um proud! First milestone nailed! :d

Glitter! That's what this post needed! Glitter!

Thanks for being proud of me!

Well done man!

Always with the characteristic honesty and sarcasm, I like that.

About new users with thousands of fake followers... I wouldn´t worry about that. I only care about good content and consistency.

Again! Congratulations bro :D

If I had 1000 and nobody gave a shit about my stuff, I'd be one disgruntled employee. Being in a sea of people, and not getting noticed. I don't see how that's going to help people, but, to each their own, right?

Thanks man!

Legit follower 😊👍 all the very best buddy... Your posts are informative and fun to read.

A cool cool thousand follows in no small feat ! Or hands - or feet - if you're Donnie T ! Life has let me nowhere near its ballz by any stretch ! If fact, it has toss'd me like a ragdoll but I am inspired by your joy and retrospect. Rock On / STEEM On @nonameslefttouse !

Life has to be complete shit before you'll ever know whether it's good or not...

So hang in there!

You're well on your way.

Yes you did do it your way. Sinatra and Elvis are rolling in their graves. Congratulations. not all followers truly follow. Great Post. - Sid Vicious.

Wait just a minute here!

Are you trying to tell me... Elvis, The King! ... is dead?
Not in my world!

Congrats on 1,000 followers!!

Yay congratulations!! always good to squeeze the ballsack of life!!
you are a steemit inspiration :)

Thank you for those kind words @hannahlicious! Always squeeze! Make juice if you have to!

If life gives you lemons... Cool! Free lemons!

I'm so happy to see you get 1000 followers ! Always enjoy your posts man :)

Thanks! Feels good.

In life... "Become a Ball Squeezer" LOL

Haha nice post you deserve it! So with something like 15000 Steempower you only get $5 per upvote? But that's of course 50% of the pay out so the rest of the pay out is $5 dollars worth of steem correct? I'm new to Steemit and trying to understand how much steempower equals how much payout for an upvote:)

It means my vote, at full power, with the value of Steem being where it is today, when I upvote, I'll give out about $5 maximum, maybe more. Someone with something like 30000 Steempower would probably be giving out about $10 max votes. The value of the vote will fluctuate with the current value of Steem. If it spikes, my vote will be worth more. If it goes down, my vote will be worth less.

Thanks a lot for your reply it's clear to me how it works now :) So investing in Steempower can be a really good investment in terms of money if the Steemprice goes up. But a very bad investment in terms of money when the Steemprice goes down. But isn't the Steemprice bound to go down because of the inflationairy nature of Steem because it doubles every year? Or doens't the value of Steem necessairy decrease by 50% each year as long as people won't sell the Steem they get?

Congratulations on your 1000+! Onward and upward.

hey congrats

Congrats on milestone!

Congratulations man!

i wish the best for you my friend good luck here
