Or........
When you're woken up out of dead sleep at 3:30 am by a completely enraged 18 year old young woman standing by your bed, wearing clothing from the late 1800's and nearly have a heart attack when far too young for such a thing.
French Acadian, so no king's men, extremely angry due to circumstances of death at age 18. On that property and way beyond it there were thousands of natives and French Acadians burned to death, so she never got to experience the life she should have had. Now I sound very strange here, lol. Let's just say I've had quite a list of interesting experiences.
LOL, I appreciate that. I don't expect anyone to believe these things. As long as I'm not burned at the stake I'm content. Probably the oddest one was a solid dark grey cat seen on several times (always kitchen and hall), that did that thing of running between legs, trying to trip one up. It nearly got me a few times. I had two cats at the time, one was a grey striped tabby, lighter in colour. I remember trying to convince myself that it was my cat, but no, my tabby and the other cat (almost all white) were fast asleep on the bed in another room every time. That one weirded me out due to it being an animal. Your mention of your dog made me think of that.
I am a firm believer in animal weirdness. We had in the way of odd things go on with our old black cat. Sadly he passed but even that was a srange event. Forgive the mysteries tone!
Agreed, like when your dog jumps up on the bed in the middle of the night and you remember that your dog died three years ago...

Indeed and even worse when she tells you the king's men have surrounded the house!

I believe you and I think you have indeed a fine collection of stories to tell!
