Summers or winters, weather shouldn't hold you and your children back from playing outdoors. As much as we love snuggling up in blankets by the fireplace, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t brace the chilly winters outdoors. To unwind after work and spend quality time with your bundle of joy, you can head out to the local park to appreciate nature and bond better. But your kid may not be too excited about just a stroll in the park so what you can do instead is try these amazing fun outdoor games to allow yourself a dose of fun and frolics.
GO MUDDY DANCING
Enjoy a day full of mud and madness with your children in the backyard. Dance, splash water and get dirty in the mud pool.
GET GREEN FINGERS
Nature is the best teacher, they say. Plant a tree or two with your child in the neighbouring park as you talk to them about environmental safety.
Nature Hiking
Childhood favourite in all parts of the world. You and your child can have a fun competition while trailing the picturesque hike. Let your child learn from the wilderness.
Hula Hoops
Tag along with your little champ and his/her buddies for a quick Hula Hooping contest in the garden. Test your flexibility and dance moves with the kids as your twirl around those hoops.
TREASURE HUNT
Pull out your pirate hat and play treasure hunt with your kids. The joy of using maps and clues to get the final reward is unique for kids, not to mention it also stimulates their grey matter.
STARGAZING
Do not restrict your outdoor games to day time only. Go on a stargazing date with your child and become their best friends under the shine of the stars.
DODGEBALL
A classic one! Dodgeball is a favourite amongst all age groups of children. Have a healthy competition with your child at the games an prove that you’re the ‘Boss’ of the house.
SPUD
The particularly new game has become an instant hit amongst family outdoor games. Learn a game of Spud with your child and their best friends. You will love the time spent running around catching that one little ball.
SLAM DUNK
The game involves two teams, a trash bin and one ball. Team up with your child and try to trash the ball in other team’s bin as you run around. The game is great for building team leadership qualities, and true sportsmanship into your child.
BLANKET RUN
Grab some blankets and pull your partner across the garden faster than other teams playing. Obviously things will be a lot easier if your partner is under 4 feet tall!
Outdoor games can be a lot of fun and learning at the same time. There’s nothing like reliving your childhood days with your child. Spare a day only for games and activities with your children. Revel the joys and cherish the games because there is nothing quite like the time spent rejoicing with your kids.
